I've already submitted a ticket with Steam but figured I'd ask for help here as well. I bought Total War Medieval II Gold on May 17th through Steam and it worked just fine. Two weeks or so later I downloaded the Stainless Steel mod and after some finagling and renaming it and putting it in another folder I got it to work just fine. Since then I've probably put close to three hundred hours in the game with nary a hiccup. Yesterday I decided to go back and play Kingdoms' Britannia Campaign instead of SS. I worked just fine. This afternoon I booted steam up and Kingdoms isn't in my library. Medieval II vanilla is still there and playable but none of the Campaigns or SS will open. I've searched through my hard drive and it's as if Kingdoms.exe was deleted. Like I've said I've submitted a ticket to Steam but I was curious to see if anyone had a fix or know what the hell happened.

In your library right click on total war medieval II and select view DLC. Kingdoms should be there, if its not than its valve problem and you have go through support. If it is there, then something has broken and you are going to have to reinstall.

Well I checked it out and it says it's installed. I feel like an idiot but google isn't being helpful nor are the steam forums. I get how to uninstall games but how do I reinstall games I bought off of steam that I don't have physical copy of? I did find the backup function while searching through different things but that doesn't help me now.

Ok the first thing to do is right click on total war medieval in the library and select properties. Go to local files and select verify the integrity of the game cache. That might fix the problem. If that doesn't then to uninstall, right click on the game in the library and select delete local content.

Okay, thanks. I did have to uninstall and reinstall and now it's working. I was a little worried that since it's a digital game I wasn't gonna be able to reinstall it but it's good now. Now I just have to reinstall all the mods... Balls. Anyway, thanks for the help.
