Is it just me or is the entire portal/half-life franchise realy REALLY deep, think about this if you go to www.aperturescience.com, type in login, use cjhonson as a username and tier3 as a password you go to a sort of blank page then type in notes(or help if you want to see the rest). It then gives you a description of what the entire story line is, it will say that black mesa was tring to steal it or copy it or something. If you look back to half-life, it looked like they where working on a project to make a rip in the space-time continuum. Now if you notice portal was placed into the public like 6-8 years ago(or something like that). Thats as far as I've gotten so tell me if you've noticed something in these games like that and post it here.

The Portal and Half-Life worlds are obviously connected in some way. That website is just a way to deepen the plot without having to do so in the game itself [And as a gimmick, obviously]. You don't really need to know the back story or anything, but it just makes the games more interesting if you do.

Yeah, but I never finished HL2: Ep.2. I got stuck on the mission where you
have to launch the explosive things at the things with long legs and then shoot at them. And you had to kill like five of them before they got to the base.
And I haven't tried again in at least a month.

yeah they do these kinda things with all kinds media, see Cloverfield, Resident Evil (Umbrella Corp), and Lost. Its all to move the storyline and to give more fun to followers.

Its an immersion technique. Doom3 had the Martian buddy website, I think some company had some site about "I like bees" or something that hinted towards the next game. TV shows do this too, Prison Break has EuropeanGoldFinch.net where supposedly the characters "communicate",I think its actually kind of fun to look for these little hidden things.
