I've just been told that the Escapist TF2 event group has been sending out requests to members to join chat and disclose their steam IDs.
Ignore them. I don't know if this has happened with the other groups I admin, that depends if the guy accessed them through my profile.

I've Contacted valve through a support ticket, but for now I'm viewing this site as suspect. Anyone want to confirm it?

Yeah happened to me as well. The funny part is that right above the private messages it states.

"NEVER TELL ANYONE YOUR PASSWORD STEAM DOES NOT ASK FOR YOUR PASSWORD!"

Steam asks for my password all the time. Whenever I open it and try to play something.

He joins, spams, then leaves, there's no time in which to do it. Or point, really, as he leaves anyway.

While we're discussing it, don't pay attention to anyone that has a username saying they're a "VAC Administrator". There is no such thing, and even if there was they wouldn't try to contact you through the Steam Community.

Do a community search on "VAC Admin" sometime and look at the active dates on some of the profiles. Some of them haven't been used for over a year if not longer. The bastards must have tricked somebody...

Never ever give your info on steam, they literally tell you when you open a chat window. My friends get the same BS on aim. "Your aim account might be hacked, give us your info, and soul, followed by 3 major credit cards"
