So I seen Killing floor on sale on steam so I ended up buying it. But as I finish buying it and start to download it, the power goes out. Then comes right back on. So I start up my computer again and try to get the game in install but it keeps saying "Downloading Starting" but nothing is downloading. So I pause it and try to start it up again and still nothing. So I try to delete it and just start all over. So I go to delete it and it tells me I don't have enough memory. (I don't have enough memory to uninstall a game? That doesn't make any sense.) So the game is still saying downloading and nothing is happening. What do I do? Please help, I really wanted to play tonight.

(side note I got portal too, right after this happened. Nothing seemed to go wrong there. Also another silly stupid game to play.)

Hm... that is really strange.
Especially since it didn't let you uninstall it.

My guess would be to restart Steam once more, see if it allows you to download, and if not, attempt to uninstall it again.
If it allows you to uninstall, well, I'm sure you'll know what to do after that. ;)

If the problem persists, I'm sure you could also contact Steam support for additional information.
Sorry, I'm not much of a handy man when it comes to this, but I hope your issue gets resolved.[footnote]Mainly because I love hearing of new people on Killing Floor. Always good to see a great game's community get even bigger.[/footnote] :S

Steam likes to be stubborn like that sometimes. Just restart steam a few times or restart your computer, it should come round eventually. I have being using steam since Half life 2 came out, and this issue happens quite a lot, so just tell it off a bit. If this doesn't work, leave it for a day or two and when you come back Steam should have finished having its Tantrum and should work. Yes, Steam is a misbehaving child.

misbehaving child? It's more like a teen that wants a new car and a dress for the prom. At least I have portal to hold me over. Just wanted to play it so bad. Thank you.

It has a very distinct... oh what's the word... "third party" feel, if you'll pardon the left-field expression.
You get the feeling that the game was designed with the dedication of a hardcore modding community (who are still great developers,) but you won't be able to shake the feeling that it's anything more than a community-driven title, which isn't bad, but is a stark contrast to something like... say... Left 4 Dead.

My advice is to stick with it, because it starts out mediocre, but gets great. Once you start learning the ropes and studying the maps, it becomes an incredibly fun game.
[sub][sub]Trying to keep this bumped so you get your answers. :D[/sub][/sub]

If you haven't gotten it to work yet, try this:

Go to your Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common folder. Look for the directory that has Killing Floor in it and delete it. Then try installing it again.

I had the same problem with all the Orange Box games (except TF2 because it's not out for Mac yet). The way to do it it to right click on the game in your library and select "delete local content" which just resets it prior to install. Then select to install again, if this doesn't work, I don't what will.

That happens to me sometimes. Just exit Steam and restart it. It fixes it for me. If that doesn't work, I've got no idea.

Go to the Steam forums, not here. Or, try searching google for people with the same problem. Most advice given about Steam is useful, just keep lookin' til something works.
