So when I try to load up TF2, it gives me a message saying "Steam was unable to sync your files for Team Fortress 2 with the Steam Cloud", and at the bottom of the Steam window it says "No Connection." I'm completely new to Steam, so I have no idea what to do.

Their customer service helped me fix games that aren't theirs so idk what the hell you are talking about.

And that is without ever having to call a person/robot voice.
It links you to their forums 9/10 times.

It's hard to find but you can actually talk to real people on steam

Once they actually told me to piss off in some nicer words. Their support has gone downhill quite a bit lately.

What links you to their "forums"?
A random game's support or steam's? For steam support you click help and the first option is steam support which is really helpful even though it is just online guides.
All their guides are terrible, it works better just googleing the issue.

Good to know that somehow ALL the guides are terrible when I personally have used them very successfully.

Only thing that I've done that hasn't really been covered by steam support is owning my gmod sounds which was my fault anyways.
Just because you managed to figure out one of their guides doesn't make them good. If I say that I liked E.T. for the Atari 2600 that doesn't change the fact that it was an utterly crap game.

12/14 statistics are made up on the spot.

I've never been linked to the forum for any of my problems, and I've contacted them surplus 17 times or so. Maybe support varies from region to region?

A good consensus might. So make a poll and then have fun generalizing off of nice fair statistics. Wait...
Read everyone that has quoted me, you are the only one saying they are very helpful so I think statistics lean in my favor but I'll make a thread asking what people think about it. (I like making threads :D)

I used to have good support but after about the start of 2009 I just keep getting absolute terrible advice.
