I'm trying to use steam, but it's acting strange. I can log in fine, but it won't connect to anything. I can't play any online games, talk to friends or do anything. I've tried everything, and nothing is working. My brother who uses the same computer and internet and get on no problems...so it's just my profile. Has this happened to anyone else? Do you know how to fix it? I just want to play steam again. Thank you.

Could just be Steam itself, mine was just doing the same thing for a bit but its connecting now and downloading an update, might be related?

I don't know...the fact that my brother's one is fine is what gets me.

Navigate to your steam directory on your hard drive (normally C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam) and delete EVERYTHING (everything) you see EXCEPT the following:
config
resource
steamapps
userdata
steam.exe (this is the Steam application)
^to reiterate, do not delete those

Once everything is gone (except all that above), run the Steam application, and it should reacquire everything that's missing. See if that fixes your problem.

So...I delete all the files and the folders, besides the one you talked about?

Awesome, I'm glad to hear it
Now I'll just do the same on my other computer and I'll be set. Thank you once again, I was really freaking out. I thought my account had being hacked or something.
