So, I bring my shiny new gaming PC up to speed, load some old games on it, upload software etc. but when I go to install Shogun 2, it stops me to hook up with my steam account. Ok, I think, this will give me a chance to download TF2 while I'm at it. Lo and behold, steam servers are "too busy". I've been trying for the past 2 hours or so and haven't been able to start a TF2 download, or even authenticate my Shogun 2 key. This sucks, any idea when I should expect this to improve?

As has been stated, its because a bajillion people are downloading their new games. I find trying again every 5 minutes or so is best, you'll get it eventually.

It's the Steam sale that is overloading the servers with lots and lots of people both Refreshing things, buying things and downloading them too...

That said, every time I got the "too busy" message when i tried downloading a game I just had to click it 3-5x more and it usually started.
I got TF2 to start downloading (albeit at a pathetic pace) but strangely enough, the shogun key still doesn't work.

I've tried re-authenticating my shogun by going back to the key entry screen and forward again about 15+ times already and it's getting quite annoying, any suggestions

I've only just been able to download The Witcher 2 after I bought it the first day.

Seems that a Steam sale puts the servers under heavy load. HOW UNEXPECTED.

It will either tell me that the steam servers are unavailable or that there is no response. Kinda weird, but then again, the comp just started acting up so i'm done for now, here's hoping everything gets resolved.

EDIT: Everything did get resolved, yay for early morning downloads!
