Steam problem

Hey guys, so me and my friend have been having a small problem with Steam. The recent update for Steam seems to have cocked things up for us a fair bit.

The thing is that it doesn't seem to be updating properly. It wasn't working so Google advised us to uninstall and reinstall, so we did. It gets to about 4% and then it just kind of stops. I dunno, we're pretty stumped. Does anyone know any reason why this would happen, or what we could do to fix this?

delete clientregistry.blob. you can find it in your steam folder.

Steam has been fucking up for me recently also. Not in this way but general glitchy annoyances. Your best bet is to sit and hope that someone there gets onto fixing it.

some times if you pause it then close the client then restart it then resume updating that's happened to me sometimes when it glitches out on me if its updating the client that's stuffed you may want to download the latest version of steam

The problem is that this is the initial update when you install it; you can't pause it. And this is the latest version as far as I know. It's the one from the website anyway.
