Steam Rating

Ok, how the hell does thing work, and what does it mean? I've figured out that game time affects it, but I can't seem to figure out a predictable pattern, or what the hell its even supposed to do, other than confuse me and other people.

For the record, I've got a current Steam Rating of 1.8, with 5.7 hours in Fallout 3, 2.something in Team Fortress 2 and .1 in CounterStrike: Source.

I think it just reflects how much you play on Steam, mines 10 because I've always got a couple dozen hours ranked up a week on something or other.

I suggest you try to look at several people's profiles and then establish if there is a linear correlation between hours played and rating. My profile probably won't help much as i'm nearly always on 10 rating.

My steam rating's at 10, and I've tallied up 33.1 hours in the past 2 weeks.

It's connected to how much time you spend on games. My rating is usually fairly low. However been playing quite a bit of Alien Swarm and also Left 4 Dead 2 recently, so it went up to 10.

Haven't played a Steam PC game in weeks, as around half of my library are games that I purchased before I found out that they were on Steam. Not to mention that I've been quite busy as of late.

It is only linked to time played on steam games, nothing to do with how many games or anything else.

Don't know the exact times though, but it doesn't take that much to reach 10.
That said my "67.9 hrs, past 2 weeks" is quite excessive.

I'm like 0.8, haha. I've only played Alien Swarm for 2 and a half hours the past two weeks though, mainly because I haven't been in the mood for gaming the past few days.

Mine is a 0. I don't game on Steam very often, because my PC can only handle one of the games I've gotten. It's not all that fun after a while, and I have much better games to play.

It reflects how often you play steam, i Think the more games you play the more it goes up along with if you play a game alot mine is 1.7 right now but a few weeks ago it was 4.4
