You are truly blessed playing the game without knowing nothing. I was also one of the lucky ones and play it after some days it came out and the game rock my world.
So please leave internet behind and first finish the game to not get spoiled. Cheers!!!
Thanks, will do!

Metal Gear Solid 5 looks amazing, but I have not played a Metal Gear game for more than 15 minutes since I beat Metal Gear Solid last millennium. I read that it is better if you followed the story. I'm a sucker for a good tale (even willing to ignore bad game design to pursue a decent story) but is MGSV worth it if you haven't kept up?
It's fine, if you simply want to tinker with the sandbox. Other than that, it's just two whole maps with not a lot to look at, grinding the same/similar missions for better equipment, no memorable bosses to fight, and a paper-thin story told mostly through cassette tapes that don't add anything to the overall narrative of the MGS saga. 4 was a better close to the series, and 3 was the peak. V is basically Peacewalker 2, with even less plot and more stupidity.

Anyway, back to the main topic. I haven't bought anything yet. Was eyeballing Doom, but not sure it's worth it at 47.99 CDN. Maybe I'll get Mad Max instead.

I have no business even looking at this most recent sale with all the other games left unplayed yet from years' prior. Maybe if DSII: SotFS set is dirt cheap.

I have something wrong with me that I love to buy late 90's or early 2000's budget title games. So almost every Steam Sale, these unwanted old pieces of shit come down to like $1.60 or less and I just gorge myself on them.. And yeah, I do actually play them. More often than AAA titles in some cases; I have the Mass Effect & Bioshock Trilogies, but ah nah, I gotta play Stalin Subway first!... Don't look at me, I'm sick.

This year, I think only three of the following games fell into that category. Which means I ended up spending a lot more than I usually do. Thankfully I got a new job to cover for this splurge.

Here's my spoils:

- Distance
- Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion
- Sunless Sea
- Dragon Age Origins: Deluxe
- Shadow Warrior Classic Redux
- Gynophobia
- Sniper: Ghost Warrior
- Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2
- ARMA: Cold War Assault
- Blood & Bacon
- Turok: Dinosaur Hunter HD
- Putrefaction
- System Shock: Enhanced Edition
- Sanctum 2
- Doorways: Holy Mountains of Flesh
- Doorways: Underground
- Marine Sharpshooter II: Jungle Warfare
- Interstellar Marines
- Call of Duty: Ghosts
- Deadcore

I threw spare change at some adventure games, RPGs, visual novels and weird looking games that are bound to leave an impression:

-Time Gentleman, Please! & Ben There, Dan That
-The Blackwell Legacy
-Phantasy Star 4
-10000000
-An Octave Higher
-Please, Don't Touch Anything
-Forget Me Not: My Organic Garden
-Machina of the Planet Tree ~Planet Ruler~
-Suits
-Space Pilgrim (all four episodes)
-Costume Quest 2

Steam said I would get two trading cards, but I only got one. That's so mean :(

I've been on more of an indie spree this time around, I've gotten:

RWBY: Grimm Eclipse - Very bare bones at the moment, but has the potential to become a neat little spectacle fighter.
Salt and Sanctuary - Massive Dark Souls fan, but not 100% sold on this yet, I'll need more time to unlearn DS stuff and learn new stuff.
Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight - Very good so far, but punishingly hard.
Stories: Path of Destinies - I've "completed" it, in that I've got the best ending, but there's still another 20 or so to collect. Been pretty good.
Seraph - This one was a spur of the moment thing, but it's pretty good. For an early access game there's a lot of polish on this one.
Saints Row: Gat out of Hell
South Park: The Stick of Truth
Skyrim: Heathfire - Not super interested in this one specifically, I mainly got it so I'd qualify for the free upgrade to the updated re-release

Spent much more than I was originally expecting, especially since for the last few steam sales I've barely bought anything. But I think I've gotten some good stuff out of it so far. I don't think I'll be getting any more stuff though. My poor wallet cannae take the strain.

I'm sure game devs hate me. I don't buy on the first week because my budget is really tight and the only way to know for sure if a game is worth buying is waiting not only to see if its "good" but what makes it appealing.

So for under $40CDN, here's what I added to my library:

Rogue Legacy, and I'm glad it's a sale item because I'm terrible at platformers.
Borderlands, while its successor has everything over it, I'm still liking it a lot.
Dark Souls II, because for $17 I can live with the same controls as its predecessor.
"You play with armor and fire magic? Total n00b lol"
"I play the PC version. Without the controls mod"
"I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy!"

Doom III BFG Edition, because at $12 it's great nostalgia. Because the new AMD video drivers only allow me to enjoy the demo for the DOOM or all my other games.
