So yeah. I just got a chat message and email out of the blue by a guy pretending to be from a clan I used to be a member of linking me to the following site which would apparently bestow upon me a free game when I entered my Steam name and password.

A fairly obvious phishing site (the asian bride ads below really give it that official steam vibe) but I just thought I'd mention it to make sure none of you mouth breathers go and type in your info automatically.


Remember kids! Always check the URL.

Edit: Just gave the site a closer inspection and it's great.

Double Edit: Apparently 'suck my dick scammers' is a legitimate user name and password and whoever owns that account will get a free game in 10 minutes. Jesus.

I got scammed once. My friend who's account was stolen sent me a link and I stupidly signed in.

There's like hundreds of these sites.
Most are just replicas of the steam page with .cz or something stupid on the end.
If you have a slight knowledge of the internet they are easily avoidable.
or maybe they are something like: storesteampower.ed.com
(just made that one up, but you get the idea)

I have tons of times this has happened

all my replies are

"Fuck off and die."

and then there are the failures.. I have a few lolz ones where they try to use the /me commands and a comma right after it
