Steam summer sale 2012

OT: This will be my first Steam summer sale, is it a list of games that go on sale each day for one day or a list of games that are on sale for the whole summer?

It's a week long sale where a LOT of games are on sale. Every game on sale has one day during the week where they go "super sale" and are off for an even higher amount. After their respective days, they return to the normal sale.

Sometimes there are fancy fun competitions and sweepstakes and stuff.

I really expected to see one happen by today. I wonder if they are not having one, or have postponed it. I suppose it's 4th of July week, and a lot of people go on vacation. Perhaps they are accounting for that?

I bought it too (DayZ and all), so Yeah. It will definitely go on sale. Surprised it didn't go on sale the next day. That's what happened with MW3.

I'm expecting it to start tomorrow. All of their sales are based around a holiday, and then re-named so nobody who doesn't celebrate said holiday gets offended. The Summer sale has been built around the 4th of July in the past, and that's tomorrow.

Why not? There's always /something/ on sale on Steam. This is as true the day before a major sale as it is the day of. I mean, I could easily be wrong, but I don't think that would be a big sign of it.

I'm honestly not that excited about the steam summer sale anymore, Amazon has done an amazing job with their sale, I mean Spec Ops and Max Payne 3 for 50% off, and Binary Domain for 75% off. I seriously doubt steam is going to beat these prices.

I don't really know what I hope to get; the last few steam sales I bought TONS of videogames, many of which very awesome. But I don't really know whats left that I'm interested in, maybe Morrowind or Grimrock, maybe even Dear Esther. But regardless, I'll be sure to keep a very close eye on it each day

I've currently got around 250 unique games on Steam, 277 if you count shortcuts and games like Sam and Max. So I'm not sure what I can buy, I'll find something though. Either way, our wallets are all going to get violated horribly.

OT: Well, considering I just bought Rock of Ages (which is totally rad btw) for the price of a take away coffee, I'd say I'm pretty pleased with myself already, and sales haven't even started yet!
I've been waiting for a sale since late last year, when I promised to buy my girlfriend L4D2, which seems to be perfect timing, considering Australia's R18 rating has finally, FINALLY, been approved!

Yeah, just a damn shame that it's only valid if you are a US resident. Europe gets completely cut out, so I am hoping that Spec Ops: The Line also becomes a part of the Steam summer sale.
