I find Steam sales to be a lot less exciting after they did away with the extreme "flash" and "daily" discounts and just keep the pricing consistent throughout the whole thing.
Yeh I used to like checking every day to see what the new list of games was or watching The Salebox. The new format is boring, you just buy everything on day 1 then forget about it.

Well...

Being a new PC gamer... Dude, I'm fucking loving how cheap games can be and shopping around for sales, so this is just gravy to me.
You're like a child wandering into the middle of a movie wondering....

You're out of your element, Donny.

One tip though, set a hard limit on new games and don't buy new ones till you have at least played (if not beaten) x amount of the games you already have. I am curious what relative steam account sizes would poll as here. 2 humble bundles and you'll have more games on your account than you expected.
A good steam sale and you're forever a part of the backlog crew. Doomed to wander the net with unplayed games in your account.

About this time every year, PC gamers start looking forward to the cornucopia of deals that is the Steam Summer Sale.
Nobody looks forward to it. We all dread it and the damage it will do to our wallets. But we just can't help ourselves.
Like an alcoholic looks forward to Saint Patrick's Day, or Cinco De Mayo, or New Year's or there sure are a lot of steam sales and holidays near the end of the year.

How about collective achievements to determine which game(s) is/are given a deep flash discount? Maybe achievements in one game give a discount in another game? Maybe 100,000 rocket league goals in a certain period of time for huge RL and cosmetic discounts? That way you could have friendly competition without the overt unbalance of the last competitive steam sale.
haaaaaaa

it's already happened. It's fine though, I'm trying to get my podcast off the ground so I imagine giving away bits of the Humble Bundles I don't want on it will help me attract a listener base...

...Also I just end up giving shit to my friends.
