Steam Client is visually messed up in Windows 11. Getting better after clearing appcache, messing around with display settings. Deleted and redownloaded the client.

Got squigly red lines where words should be at best. Any advice? Thanks!

Whatever, just wash your hands.

Have you tried repairing steam?
Exit Steam. Dont just close it.
Click Start > Run (Windows Key + R).
Type the following command: or copy and paste
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\bin\SteamService.exe /repair
Launch Steam and test the issue again.

Thanks, I'll give that a try! Not hopeful as I uninstalled and downloaded it fresh :-( Pretty sure it is a Windows, AMD Graphics card setting somewhere.

Nope, that didn't do it. I've tried turning off every setting that tries to "assist" graphics in Windows and AMD and now have what appears to be 2 types of lettering. The top menu items appear fine, other sub lines squiggly red...

Well, only thing I've found that sounds like what is going on has the reccomendation to full restart.
Try restarting your entire pc. Restart option, not turning it off and on again.
If that doesn't help, it could help to change the hardware acceleration option in windows. Seems like some people had problems in the past that got fixed by doing that, but usually it should work either way. Did anything update maybe?

Found this also which sounds similar to your issue.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Weird, there's nothing specifically stating that hardware accelerator can be toggled on/off in my version of Windows 11 but adding -cef-disable-gpu to the target got rid of the messed up lettering!!! What a freaking nightmare that was!!!
EDIT: 1) There is a hardware accelerator setting in Steam itself. Wonder if I should have shut that off, but once the issue hit, I couldn't see it!
2) For those who do uninstall, reinstall the Steam app, going to settings, download, storage gets it to find already installed games again.

Glad it worked. It really felt like a font issue to me, like the font set got corrupt or something, surprised that gpu acceleration can do something like that. But now that I think about it, I think I have seen this issue before, not with steam but with something else and a reboot resolved it.

Yeah, I rebooted, uninstalled, reinstalled, used Task Manager to stop processes and restart stuff. Nothing worked. Now, having added that data to my target line in the shortcut and I can see again, that may be where hardware acceleration needs to be turned off. Very bizarre. I imagined I'd be out games I've been collecting for over a decade.
