Mine's the "Home" key.

Because I ran into problems with the default Shift + Tab, because in Morrowind, I'd press both at once when holding Shift to run and pressing Tab to switch to third person. I'd use autorun, but Morrowind's[footnote]I can't seem to use the overlay at all in Morrowind anymore for some reason.[/footnote] fatigue system discourages that.

What's yours? And why...if there is a reason.

Shift + Tab, there's the occasional I didn't want it to pop-up and I get raped in TF2, but It works really well for me, rarely gets in my way.

Shift + Tab. I haven't had any issues so I didn't feel the need to step outside the boundaries of "If it ain't broke don't fix it..."

Admittidly I did have issues in MW2 where I'd be sprinting and try to bring up the score at the same time...I fixed that problem when I stopped playing MW2 :p

I avoid the Steam Overlay, I have found it has far too many compatibility issues.

Rome Total War, Broken Sword, Morrowind and a whole bunch of others. Just doesn't seem worth it.

Anyone have any compatibility tips to make the overlay not so touchy?

Shift+Tab because it's the default. The only game it's ever trouble in is HL2: Deathmatch, but I don't play that game often enough to change my old habits of using Shift+Tab.

Mine is Num Pad +. It's very far out of the way and my muscle memory knows exactly where it is. Win win.

I hate to sound unoriginal, but... shift+tab. The only Steam game I have is Left 4 Dead 2 and shift+tab doesn't get in the way.

So... yeah

It was shift-tab til I start playing RTS games with it up (specifically Warcraft III and Dawn of War). Then I switched it to F12 to avoid hotkey interference.

Shift+tab never worked for me due to excessive counter-strike. I like to show the scores a lot, and I like to walk. Bad combo. I use Page Up, because I don't think I have any games that need that key.
