Steamguard doesn't recognize me

So after hearing about steam getting hacked, I attempted to buy Skyrim (perfect thing to do after something gets hacked) and steam asks me relog in and steamguard is telling me a code got sent to my email for using a new computer, the thing is i have been using the same computer for months now.

It only asked me to go to my email after i tried to buy a game, is steam doing this on purpose because of the hack or am i screwed?

I would contact steam support right away. It might be nothing but its certainly the sort of thing you want them to look at.

I get this when trying to log onto steam in Firefox when I normally log in through the client. I recommend you try buying skyrim purely within the steam client itself.

What Baneat said, if you try to do something outside of the actual client, it may do that.

I think it's also to do with logging on automatically. I haven't manually logged into steam for a long time, typing the user and pass. Every time I turn the system on it just logs in for me.

You should be fine, as long as the mail gets sent to your inbox. It's possible that the server derped during the hack investigation. I wouldn't worry.

Heck, this is the only time Steam Guard ISN'T derping on me. I've reset it about six times, and it finally works.

Welp it seems steam completely crashed on me and i cant even access the store to buy skyrim (guessing everyone is downloading it now) so i cant even put the code in.

edit: now im confused, was able to buy game without putting anything in...
