I agree and disagree.Branindain said:Wow, the internet is full of whingers isn't it? Putting aside the question of why people are coming to a website called THE ESCAPIST looking for super srs important news, why come into an article about someone growing an Iron Man beard if you don't care? It says what it is on the tin. The Escapist is spreading itself pretty broadly these days and I'm smart enough not to feel the need to read everything they put up just because it's there. That's what titles are for.
I agree that people need to calm down with the complaints about people wanting serious news. You don't have to click on an article you clearly don't like the content of. Doing so just to complain is really a narcissistic thing to do. That belongs on Twitter.
I do disagree about not calling out articles like this though. This is a pretty Buzzfeed/Gawker Media style article. I'd say that people need to be a bit more constructive with their criticism rather than simply posting a snarky remark that serves no purpose other than to let their unrefined opinion known. There's no point to it here on these forums. There's no Facebook Like/Twitter Retweet system. People that don't like the articles should state so in a manner that shows criticism in a detailed manner.
I get your point though, its the kind of comments that got the Escapist Forums their reputation for "snark" in the first place.
OT: Looks good on Colbert, but seriously Escapist, lets stop with these kinds of articles. It hurts the brand of the website. This is the only gaming/nerdom site that does these kinds of articles. Why?
