He was pretty good as Wheatley, although his voice will always, for me anyway, be the voice of the Barclays adverts.
He did a bang-up job turning the corner from good to evil, especially given how hard that is to do while maintaining a consistent sense of character. The writing did a great job at keeping the shift pretty subtle, and the voice acting stayed within that writing, rather than trying too hard to convey that change.Tom Goldman said:Permalink
It's possible to go in to a role you're unfamiliar simply wanting to do it well without feeling that there is a greater "responsibility" weighing you down.Sober Thal said:Also: "I suddenly felt this responsibility to try and do a good job"
Wow, so he was planning on doing a bad/mediocre job until he found out Portal was popular? What an ass.
I need to go back and watch Extras, when I first met Wheatley I was sure it was Ricky Gervais and was surprised it wasn't - I must have gotten some wires crossed.GonzoGamer said:And then a Ricky Gervais personality core could make fun of him.
I remember Kari Wahlgren, who did the english voice of Rip Van Winkle once was asked in an interview if she knew how much the fans liked her. Her response: "Wait...I HAVE FANS!?"Bags159 said:First Tara Strong is completely oblivious to the fact that MLP:FIM is insanely popular, and with the older, male demographic at that (How do you feel about how MLP has become popular with teenage to adult males? Glad to hear he upped the ante.
