I still don't understand why people didn't like the Mako. Sure it could be sticky, but I mean, it's got to be better than spending a 15 minutes on each planet with a cursor that went slower than a Commodore 64 trying to run World of Warcraft(hmm...that last part sounded unnecessarily nerdy...). I actually found the Mako fun once I got used to it. I'm hoping they bring it back in ME3, though they're probably gonna do some fusion thing where you scan a planet and land at hotspots to do a Mako-like driving game. Of course this will only get both the people who preferred the Mako and those who preferred the probing better mad. But who knows, anything(mostly) is better than this damn scanning.

The mining is pretty stupid, you just shoot a probe at a planet and all these rare resources magically appear inside the ship? They really could make that more stategic...
OMG!!!

You say this after ME1 had you hack computers and disarm nukes by playing "simon says".
Err... don't you still hack computers and disarm nukes by playing "simon says"? Thats pretty stupid too BTW, but at least it doesn't take very long.

I have to LOL at the "better than the mako" comments. That's like saying "at least it was warm this time" after having a game company urinate on your head (again).

Why do single player games even have optional (but mandatory) busy work? Leave that to the MMO players and their severe OCD.

No, its timed matching now. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5ZQN96fXLw&feature=player_embedded]

Which makes it harder and presses you to be faster.

Harder since there are so many more values to take into account (versus "simon says" which just sends one at a time) and more pressing as their is a time limit (which "one button at a time simon says" never did).

If the Mako wasn't mandatory on every mission short of the space stuff it wouldn't be bad. The variety and crappy controls are really the issue. I can see how wonky controls are kinda fun when your just joyriding to the next location(once again...) but in my playthrough to get set up for ME2 something weird happened and any resemblance of physics were gone. I know there wasn't much to begin with but when you have limited time and a metric shit ton of bad guys between you and your destination, radical air time is a big fat Debbie Downer.

The comic was great, its now my background.

And I'm very happy to know I'm not the only one constantly hunting down Platinum.

the mining made me miss the Mako terribly. My neighbor would be able to testify to this at length.

also either is made less boring with the addition of music played from your chosen media program.

if the Mako had more weight (with more powerful boosters to compensate) and the terrain was better it all would have been solved.

oh, or they could just give us the Hammerhead with the ME1 system.

oh? I thought they're using a "matching game" and "don't touch the wall" now.

Except that the Hammerhead's armored with papier-mâché, takes forever to take down an YMIR mech when a soldier Shepard can rip it apart in seconds (god forbid they make you fight thresher maws in that tin can), and does a silly little dance when mining for resources.

Aside from those, I'd say it's a step in the right direction. Project Overlord showed us that much, although I don't think it would be feasible, considering Overlord is over 1GB. That's 1 GB for 1 planet with about a square mile or two for the hub area, 2 different driving area worlds and really tiny interior maps. Considering that 1 DVD has max 8GB storage on it, that'd mean one disk would have enough space for 8 planets, unless they generate everything randomly, where you might end up with cookie-cutter locations.

i think there should be some animation while it digs up whatever, at least you don't have to get out. although it would be nice to be able to.

other than that it's armor is fine. it's very fast and dodgy, so you don't even get hit. Also the YMIR mechs that you fight in it (can't remember any) are obviously of a higher quality as the hammerhead firepower is rather excessive.

Also a world doesn't take 1GB. how big would Mass Effect I been then? Not every world has to have tons of things going on. though my hardrive would hardly notice another 30GB of data which i think would be welcome on such a game
