I know this is kinda old, but I am seriously pissed off right now. George Lucas is going to re-release his films in theatre, AGAIN. Only this time in 3D.

For fucks sakes George, just stop already! You have the Blu Ray discs of the films coming out later this year, then the 3D re-releases starting in 2012 with Phantom Menace, and then the home release of the 3D versions! Leave the fucking films alone!

I am getting sick of 3D, but thanks to George, he is going to extend the fad with the power of Star Wars ALONE. He wants to release each 3D version a year apart, which means that he will extend the fad into 2017! And people are going to buy it! Star Wars always sells well, regardless, and there's nothing we can do about it.

I've gotta feel sorry for all the huge Star Wars fans that try to see every release. Lucas must have charged them a fortune by now. Great way to reward you fans, ain't it?

He's greedy, it emanates from every decision he makes nowadays. I'm sure he'll re-re-release every movie he's ever done again as soon as something comes along to give him an excuse. It's sad, but history it's likely true.

Well from what seems to be the going theory is he is trying to raise funding for the sequel trilogy he swears he will never make.
I would say within 10-15 years Lucas will pretty much be out of the picture regardless so just have patience.

Honestly, my real complaint is that Lucas really SHOULDN'T make something new.His company might make some good things, but when Lucas gets directly involved he really goms things up. Just look at the prequel trilogy and Jedi, Ewoks, Jar Jar... do I need to go on?

Well, I love Star Wars, and I was okay with the Special Editions, but this is just getting ridiculous.

The Clone Wars tv show has also been raped by Lucas since eh fired his top Writer Henry Gilroy so he could have more control over the series. Everything the man touches withers and dies.

When I heard that he was gonna re-release them with 3D I was super pissed, and honestly, I've never sat through Episode IV going, 'Ya know, I'm really digging this whole movie, but it's missing something, I need to feel like I'm more into the action and have the feeling like I'm there. I know! How about 3D? I need to feel like I'm right next to Darth Vader.'

Star Wars always sells because the fans of the shit are sickinengly masochistic. They put up with some shit in the star wars canon. They're gonna go see all of them, even the 1st one, I guarantee it. I just don't get it. I like some of the Star Wars movies, but half of them (and I include Episode IV) kinda suck, or blow hard.

The sad part is, the Expanded Universe stories are quite often a hundred times better than anything lucas could make, but they must bow to him in terms of canon. Because everything he touches needs to become god like, so no matter how good your novel, game or comic is, if Lucas contradicts it, your work doesn't matter anymore.

You know what would be neat? If he made some sort of 'prequel' set of movies, explaining the universe before the trilogy took place. Of course it would have to be handled tactfully and with all the skill we've come to associate with George Lucas and Steven Spielberg. But hell, these are the same guys that made both the Star Wars AND Indiana Jones trilogy. I'm sure they'd know how to handle the movies with the degree of maturity and respect fans want from any further explorations into the Star Wars setting.

Alas, it shall probably never be. Perhaps, in a way, that's for the best. I mean just imagine if they had somehow screwed it up? God, that'd be like putting a bullet into the head of my childhood, I'm not sure I could take it would becoming an embittered sarcastic grumpy critic.

Actually...compaired to most movies in 3D...Star Wars makes more sense. The movie already has many of 3D friendly angled parts and could potentially find GOOD uses for 3D. I wouldnt bother seeing it still though, but it probably will be better than most other 3D stuff.

I'm going to watch it with my friends and have a blast. I couldn't see most of the films in the theatre and so watching the epic saga on the 'big screen' and with 3D (which I hope will be masterfully done) it's going to be fucking A.

Rather than ***** about it, I'm looking forward to having the opportunity to take my kids to see Star Wars on the big screen; it was (at least the original trilogy) the best movie-going experience I've ever had and I can't wait to share the excitement and fun with them.
