Honestly I've noticed nothing. I've been lurking from around 2010 and really haven't noticed more hate. What I have noticed is that the threads have become quite drab and predictable. Maybe it's because the place has nothing cool going on. It isn't the hate it's the lack of humour. There isn't anything awesome happening, remember a while ago, maybe the summer when the site covered cool things like the flying propeller hover farming thing. Things are getting better, the big head ant thing was awesome and I hope things can have that air of excitement again. In a way I feel it might be the redesign, plus the fact we're in the middle of winter atleast to me makes the site feel very closed in. We need some more communication and feel good in here. I don't know the last time a saw a /thread or any sort of comradery.

I'll be honest, I haven't noticed anything bad. Ever.
But I guess I just don't wander into the right places at the right times, or wrong places at the wrong times I suppose. Oh well.
I really should make more nice things. Sorry about that. Tomorrow, I shall try to brighten up your days! *hugs for all*

Eh, it seems like there are fewer conflicting opinions on here than there used to be, everyone just agrees to hate everything these days. So, spread the loooooove!

I've noticed a fair amount of negativity but I can't really say it's new or not. I think it probably just comes in waves.

I do my best to be somewhat pleasant most of the time... and when I am not I try to just say it to myself. Of course I don't post a huge amount and even if people recognize me I doubt they recognize my personality or anything.

To sum up, honestly I find hating (like real aggressive dislike of something) stuff to be exhausting and not worth the effort.

Have you considered that this might have happened due to the world recession? In general, people are a lot more depressed with the world during recessions, and happier during growth - I haven't been here long enough to notice a difference, but it seems plausible.

You know what? I may be relatively new here but I've been lurking for over two years and I agree. Spread the love everyone, spread it like sweet sweet jam! Come on, I'll help and give free hugs! :D

I totally agrre. Too much hatred has left a sour taste in my mouth, not just on here, or the internet in general. But everywhere.

You know what.....

Who's with me?

I can't even make jokes about the Religion & Politics section anymore, because that's what the entire forum looks like now.
The great tragedy of comedy is that some people don't get the joke. I don't know, the community hasn't seemed to change much since I've been browsing and posting though. Has it really gotten noticeably more aggressive?

You know what I love?

The fact that I'm a part of the internet. Never in the entirety of human history would anyone have been able to post on a message board filled with people from opposite ends of the globe, all gathered together by choice to share in a common interest.

You know what makes me sad?

That most of it is used to discuss how much we hate stuff.

As such, I propose a "be nice to people on the internet day." Every February 3rd, we should all go online and post nice things.Things like puppies.

Well, ok. As long as you don't chose an anchor over me though. Got some pretty bad memories of that. *sniffle*

Well, I absolutely agree with you. But I don't see it happening. People are just way too dramatic here lately. It leads to a bunch of one-upsmanship in raging.

It absolutely has. It's not just about people "being mean", but just being defensive or cynical or elitist as a default. It doesn't make for great discussion. Not that there aren't people I respect here. I think I just tend to reply to those few people mostly anymore.

I'm always up for love over hate. Come on guys, I'll give you all a hug!

*hugs you all even though some of you said no anyway*
No way man, NO way! I reject all of your hugs on account of my intimacy issues.
I'm all for stopping the hate though. Let's throw some communication in here! almost every thread I see is a question then everyone answers, instead of people replying to each other and discussing the points and questions with eachother. That isn't a discussion, that's an in depth survey. I don't know maybe I'm looking in the wrong places.

I think I need an adult...

I love the avatar by the way, Curse of Monkey Island has a spot on my top 10 favorite games and likely always will thanks in large part to Murray the Demonic Talking Skull.
