Hello Escapists,
After installing the latest update for Diablo 3 I began to have strange graphics issues that look like this:

Now it is not only Diablo with such weird graphics as it has spread to most of my other games with it either looking like that, or with characters having missing textures and so black patches all over them.
Anyone else had/have this problem?
Any help is greatly appreciated in fixing this problem!

I'd guess offhand that your GPU is overheating, so you should check you fans, heat sinks, and other cooling devices to make sure they're in working order.

It could also be something to do with faulty graphics memory (or main memory!) - it looks like texture index lookups are looking up the wrong texture. If the issue appears after a while playing (as opposed to, say, when starting the game from a cold boot), it's likely overheating. Otherwise, you may be in for a new graphics card.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
It could be gpu over heating or some of your texture files went bad.... actually it sounds more like your graphics card is dying if its spreading, get ready to need a new one.

I had this once. GFX was broken. I got flashing green and black patches allover... Try updating drivers...

I'd ignore the two replies above me for now.

Not saying that they can't be right, they very well may be. Hardware is complex like that.

But when solving stuff like this you should definitely start with the easiest solutions and move progressively downwards.

That'd would make your first step to download the latest drivers for your GPU.

After that you can go opening your case, cleaning your fans etc.

But update your drivers first, you'll feel pretty stupid if you try all sorts of complicated stuff and then figure out that it's fixed by something very simple.

See the strange thing is, this problem only arose after the newest Diablo update and everything was working fine before that. Is there any way of getting rid of the update or should I just uninstall the game to do this? Thanks for all the help everyone!
