I was just sitting here eating my bowl of homemade Vietnamese Sweet and Sour Pork that I just made, made with authentic Vietnamese ingredients no less (bloody hard to find in Brisbane AUS), and I thought; It's a hobby of mine to go out of my way to make sure the food that I consume is always inspired, healthy and enjoyable, it's a strange little hobby that I find very fulfilling...
so I caught myself wondering, what little hobbies are my fellow escapists into that just makes them, well.. them. ^^

So how about it guys, what are you into besides gaming that you find fulfilling? Feel free to share any hobby you can, however strange. XD It's the internet, not like we judge or anything lol. *shifty eyes*

I used to play ZP on the computers at QUT to see who stopped to watch.

Also at traffic lights I keep creeping forward and watch the cars behind me do the same.
Oh and swerving around paper on the road and watching the cars behind swerve too.
And un-nerving learner drivers....hehehehe.

I spent about 5 years slightly moving small objects my Mom would set down and then turn away from. Drink glasses, eyeglasses, remote controls, thimbles, eating utensils, moved anywhere from 6 inches to 2 or 3 feet. I just wanted to see what the psychological effect would be.

oh, what's happokiri kata? (apologies in advance for my ignorance of such things)
Don't sweat it... I practise kenjutsu, literally, 'sword-technique' in Japanese (went absolutely crazy yesterday and my arms are suffering for it).

Set sequences of movements for training are called 'kata' (oh, why did I just think of Equilibrium just now...?!) and 'happokiri' refers to eight cuts, or rather eight kills (against opponents at the eight cardinal compass positions, or analogous).

^^, I used to do that too with certain things. Mostly anime on my laptop at UQ to see if anyone was interested in watching. (made me feel a bit silly and self conscious though, to know I was trying so hard about such a silly thing lol)

I collect crazy ammounts of Snow globes, my aim is to have a snowglobe from each country in the world. I've managed to get one for every European country and one from America, China and Japan in my travels. Not sure if i need just the one snowglobe for America or if i need to have one for every state, my life is complex man.

Another thing i do is wallpaper my entire room with Game Manuals, so far i've got a third of my room wallpapered, im using steam a lot of the time nowadays so i dont get the paperback manuals anymore, my brother usually passes manuals from games he's bought recently to me though.

I don't know how strange it is but I really enjoy taking my guns apart, cleaning them, and putting them back together. I zone out and just focus on taking parts off or brushing some powder residue off.

It is kinda like a 3D puzzle that goes "bang"

trust me: in these parts, its considered mighty strange to run around in tight pants and armor-like pads, all while yelling in english...

The sad part is that I'm 20....and we still have Nerf wars every other weekend.

Although they are modded and painted and are awesome.

I wish i still had some of my stuff. Especially this big ass Super Soaker with a bipod and backpack water tank. But I was dumb and got rid of it years ago.

I'm also 20 and hey, if only half of my friends had Nerf gun wars every other weekend, I'd know I'm doing something right in my life. ^^

Depends on what you perceive as strange.
Personally, I play a great variety of pen & paper RPGs.

Well it's not really MY idea of 'strange' that I'm using as a basis here. It's more, what in your mind do you feel you do that not many other people would. Not in a negative light at all, just more like, as your performing your hobby n question, you think: 'hmm, wonder who else does this? It's not exactly something people talk about so I wonder.' etc. ^^

Well, it still fits, then.

Also, whenever I come across an interesting voice in a TV show/movie/cartoon, I try to imitate it.
A few semesters ago we actually had to give a five-minute speech about something like this (i.e. things we did that were fairly uncommon), and I gave mine about voice-acting. When I was imitating Dr Zoidberg and the Hedonism Bot from Futurama, almost the entire class was in stitches. ^^
