As far as your aware PC gamers get a reputation of being pretentious snobs who are more intelligent and arogant than console gamers, yet XBL users get a reputation of being 12 year old kids or frat boys with ADHD who simply follow the trend of what is cool

but PSN users dont really get a reputation for anything, i think its because we are a happy medium. we have artsy pretentious games like Little Big Planet yet we still have a large following on games like call of duty and bad company. sure ive seen some immature greifers and some douchebags but overall most people on PSN are just normal people.

PSN users get a reputation for not having mics. Which prevents them from having personalities.

It's so boring without people to talk to. I miss the whiny 12 year olds from Xbox.

NOT SARCASM

Dead silence is just boring.

I play online games to socialize, not to just kill people.

PSN has indeeded less annoying people, but you can still find annoying 12 year olds on COD, though I don't mute them becuase I usualy own them and they get mad.

Though yeah it does kind of seem like the middle.

Is there a question here? If the question is why, it's because, frankly, the PS3 isn't a popular enough console for other fanboys to invent a demeaning stereotype about people who use it for their online gaming.

I thought PS3 gamers were considered the worst fanboys of all, simply because you won't admit a bad port is a bad port?

That's what I got at any rate.

I hate PS3 fanboys. You never meet them on PSN because they don't have a mic. But dear god if they have some way to talk to you...

And for the last time, I don't want to explain that the PS3 has better processing power, not these "godlike graphics powers" you seem to think comes with your PS3. That's the blue ray, not the PS3 graphics card. Christ.

WRONG!

PSN users are just a watered down version of XBL. Not as many have Mics and the ones that do are usually terrible at the game. We are not higher up or happy class mediums... We are boring and emotionless.

We are Ninja-bridge Sasuke without the sex. (Obscure internet referenced no jutsu!)

Calumon: Jack disabled voice chat for me. : (

I agree with the lack of mic usage. But most of the games that are only PS3 don't lend themselves to online play as much as Halo so people forget that it is there.

True, but playing with a mic, I've actually never really run into an arrogant screamy kid. The talk you do hear is usually either tactical in shooters or amicable. I've yet to encounter a real asshole on PSN.

It's true what you say though. Very few people use mics, and it's sad considering you can hook up any blue tooth device

My thoughts exactly. PSN users aren't less pretentious or less annoying, there are just so few of them in the first place that they go unnoticed.

i agree the good thing is that the people who talk actually want to talk, the few conversations ive had are either as you say "tactical" or just a good chat. id rather have a few decent people on mic than alot of screaming idiots

I like the PSN. After XBL and PC online gaming, I feel like I found a nice, quiet corner of the internet that only a few people know about, where I can just chill out, play games and interact in a civil fashion.

Mhmm, can't agree with you there. Fella that got me into Blazblue told me not to get/use a mic on the grounds that people were some of the most trash-talking and incredibly irritating people out there, which he stated from personal experience. I think the thing about PS3 users, therefore, is that they don't talk for a reason.

The only reason PSN gamers have no mics is because they poured all of their money into the system and the games... or, in my case, because I have no income to get a mic. Of course, with all the perpetuated stereotypes of online mic users, I find myself rethinking this.

yeah its like the smokers corner of the web, everyone is just so civil and relaxed. i really enjoy playing COD with some randomer just chatting about current events or playing with a randomer on BC2 talking about tactics etc
