Do you perhaps have a game you love and refuse to get bored of, and so come up with your own ways of playing them?
For instance, when playing The Sims 2, I determine almost everything my Sims do with roll of a dice :p so I don't fall into the trap of every one of my Sims being fabulously wealthy and happy.

And I play Bioshock using just a Pistol and a Shotgun (as well as the elctrobolt, incinerate and telekinesis plasmids - or all plasmids vs. Big Daddies) and refuse to allow myself to be ressed with a Vita Chamber, thus bringing more of a survival horror edge to it.

The only reason i play like that is because i want to get the brass balls achievement...
Go ahead, call me an achievement whore. It's the truth anyway.

Other than that, Ive had multiplayer games on CoD4 where I use nothing but the Desert Eagle.
On TF2 I am what you might call an "offensive medic", where as I have the balls to go right up to the enemy and blast them with a whole bunch of needles.
In GTA IV ive had multiplayer firefights where I have refused to use anything else than a pistol and pump action shotty.

In order to challenge myself, I sometimes try to beat songs on Guitar Hero without using star power. Used to try playing behind my head, but Misirlou hurt like hell.

I play alot of games (Usually RPG's) with the sound off and the radio on. In game music and bad voice acting bugs the hell out of me

Well when my sister use to play the sim's I would just make a house with no doors fill it up with a bunch of garbage put 10 people in there get one of them to start a fire and see who lives the longest.

Last time I played Halo 3 I chose to do a meta campaign on easy with ALL BUT TWO of the skulls turned on, exceptions being the one that makes you restart the level on death, and the one that takes away the HUD. Shortly thereafter, I found myself making a point to run right up to every brute, smack them in the face, then throw a sticky at them. ...Mostly because it takes forever and a half to kill them otherwise.

Soul Calibur 3 I only ever play with the 'random creation' and do a damn fine job with, not because I'm that good, but because I'm usually unpredictable... especially to me. In Ace Combat I'll ignore all my missiles and special weapons now and again, and in onimusha I force myself to use only the basic sword for games one and three, or the joke weapons in four.

Sometimes I'll play Brawl (with a GCN controller) with my middle finger on the X/Y buttons, and my index on A and B.

i play games drunk sometimes.... idk if that counts.

in the first halo, i used to have fistfights with the Lekgolo. those were fun.
in just about every FPS i try to have at least 3 hours of pistol war.
some times i have no armor and the best gun ever, other times i have all the armor and a stick.
my friends and i usually mute the cinemas and make up lines. (we also do that for Telemundo soap operas).

OH! on a LAN game of America's Army, my friend and i played "Duck":
basically 2 players stand on opposite sides of a level-
one goes and hides while the other one finds a shootpoint.
when ready, the hidden player has to pop out for increments of 2,3,or 4 seconds and the other player has to find and shoot him before he goes back into hiding.

betting money on FPSs or other genres is also pretty fun. if you do cpu vs cpu on like Soul Calibur II, you get some pretty amazing shows.

Me and my friends use to come up with fun ways to play COD4. In one multiplayer match we got everyone on our team to equip radar jammer, silenced weapons, smoke grenades, and claymores, then one the one level there's a pool in the back you can go in, we all gave our selves a smoke screen and dumped claymores everywhere, enemy never stood a chance.

Also sometimes when playing local multiplayer we'd have one person hide on a level facing a wall and the rest of us would have to find and brutally murder him just by looking at the pattern of the wall and/or floor he's looking at.

Back when I was younger a friend and i would make houses in the sims with only children living in it to see what would happen. Some man would show up and never leave was the answer..

I play CoD4 with only rockets and knives. I only use the rockets to save an ally. Makes the game pretty fricken hard. I let myself use flash bangs too. Flashing and then clearing a room with only a knife is hella fun.

I do really well with it too.

Spider Solitaire (the Windows card game): The 2 suit mode is too easy and the 4 suit mode is too hard, so I play 2 suit mode and try to get ALL of one suit first.

Thief: On levels that are pretty much all humans (and the terrain allows it), I try to knock out everyone and pile their bodies in a stack. No kills allowed!

Master of Magic: There are an ENDLESS number of ways to handicap yourself in this game. I'm not the only one who does this! For example, I've won playing all with one color magic for each of the 5 types of magic, with each of the races, with only the starting city (raze all cities conquered), with no heroes, with ONLY heroes (very tough this one!), without stepping foot on Myrror, etc, etc.

Another Sims anecdote - I make families and try to find the limitations of the programming.
For example - the Sims 2, made a lesbian couple. We'll call them Jane and Mary. Jane was insanely jealous and usually fought with Mary if Mary looked at a guy while Jane was around. Mary had an affair with Bob and got pregnant. I thought "Alright, great fight brewing as soon as Jane gets home to find out Mary's preggers." Nope. Jane was thrilled that her wife was pregnant, did not put 2 and 2 together. Don't know if they changed that in an expansion pack, but it was fun to see the limitations of the programming.
Another fun thing - kill off a family in a house fire, and watch the Grim Reaper afterwards. He'll take his sweet time, and use your bathroom when he's done.
I once tried the VGCats "room full of fireplaces and wooden chairs" trick to try to set a house on fire. Didn't work. The house finally caught fire when the (cooking) inept male tried to make grilled cheese.
My other favorite thing to do is fence people in on the front lawn. In the Sims 1, you could get them into one-block squares, and they'd beg for a door.

Halo Jousting.
1. choose your weapon, prefrably something like a rocket launcher. Sniper riftle if you want to make it interesting. Even grenades and melee work.
2. set the health bars on low. Makes it more interesting.
3. run at the other person on a count. when you reach a certain, predetermined point between you, fire.
