Strange Xbox advertising....

Just saw an advert on the Tv for Xbox, I'll dig it up in a while, the point is though that it was a target at a preteen audience.

Is it just me or does this seem a strange step for microsoft to take, the only game they could mention was lego batman that was coming out soon.

The Xbox...well it's the machine for FPS games, teenagers (and annoying 12 year old americans with loud voices and big mouths). I would imagine this to be unsuccesful when they're competing with the Wii for that age group

They have to make varied ads to appeal to a varied group of gamers.
My fave XBOX ad was the Birth - Death ad that was banned because of people who'd gone to funerals...

Anyway, I do think it's odd for them to be trying to edge into the Wii's market, and it doesn't seem like the best move for them, they shouldn't do avatars, and lips and all that stuff, they should just stick to what they do best, shooters

The advert is awful really. The Rock Band one isn't too bad, would prefer to see a Halo one though, just to see how that happens in the back of someones head.

Weren't the early PS3 ads directed by Cronenburg. They gave nothing away, mind.

Turns around only to find out the back of their heads be lopped off
and their brain pan scooped out and
replace with some some dolls house furniture...

^This one's awesome. It's not for xbox(or any other console) but for Resident Evil 4 and should not be watched if you're not old enough to buy the game yourself(which I believe is 16 or 18+) as it starts with a naked woman sitting on a bed breast feeding a baby.

I thought Sarah Palin was just the vice president candidate? I thought John McCain was the actual opponent.

Fair point about Viva pinata, but I have to admit I tried the game myself and quite enjoyed it.

Oh, and about the 'don't stereotype' I'm an Xbox live gamer myself, I was just stating the stereotype, relax , some of us like to play team work games like Team Fortress.
