Well hello there everyone.
With the forums being as vitrolic as never before, I thought that we might all benefit from some relaxation, so I ask you, dear escapees, what is something strange that relaxes you.

For me it's this video:
It's about putting together a DIY-guitar-effect-pedal, and yet, this is probably one of the most relaxing videos I have ever seen.

Valium.

Failing that, stroking/scratching my leg hair. No idea why, but it's rather soothing. But also slightly creepy, so I abstain from doing it in public...

Edit:

This guy's videos. The fun he seems to be having, and all the interesting stuff he knows about the guns he plays around with is very relaxing to watch. Plus I love that Southern American voice - he's like an awesome granddad.

Heavy Metal. As the Trucker from Cowboy Bebop said "It's called Heavy Metal and it's some of the most soothing stuff in the world." (paraphrased)

I agree, used to fall asleep with the music. But that drained the MP3's battery too much.

Also Rainy Mood [http://www.rainymood.com/]. You are all very welcome for me introducing you to this website.

I like driving. Sometimes I just sneak out at night just to go and drive, nothing else, no objective, just drive. Helps that I've got a decently designed and well-upkept vehicle that has a terrific sound system (I CAN HEAR EVERYTHING) but yeah, I enjoy driving cars, period.

Odd as it may seem, I find coffee to be very soothing. Drinking too much will make me hyper, but just one mug will leave me feeling pleasantly content.

Less odd is Frank Sinatra's music. Even his sadder songs leave me feeling mellowed.

Metal music is the strangest one I can think of. It isn't just the fact that it is loud and intense, but I also use it to wake up a lot of the time when I'm too tired and relaxed to focus on work. It's almost like it is telling my body to rebel against whatever desires it has at the time.

I find this strangely relaxing... He starts typing in all chat dammit. So funny. This is why we take Move Speed Quints on everyone but AD Carries!

[sub][sub][sub]YOU HAD FLASH?!?!?!!?!?[/sub][/sub][/sub]

I think "fucking slob of a fuck" is my new favourite swear.

I find training mode in fighting games with a few select characters to be relaxing. Seriously, Mu is like the most relaxing thing ever. She's just so calm and focused... And cute. Also extremely deadly. Deadly cute :3

I don't even have BnB combos for anyone except Makoto (even then it's a few buttons into Corona Upper, probably more damage just ending a straight ground series with a charged Drive but whatever)

Dante in UMVC3 is the opposite, NO NOT THAT MOVE! YOU HAVE LIKE 50 SPECIALS! STOP IT!

So silly. He has specials that can only be accessed by canceling out of OTHER specials ;_;

I find Day[9] relaxing, maybe not in a "I could fall asleep to that" kind of relaxing but if I'm feeling frustrated from boredom, uneasiness etc he has this strange ability to just entertain me and take away that frustration.

I never really need to relax that much, don't lead a stressful life and I don't feel stress, that I know of.

Podcasts relax me, as does Television. I like to listen to people talk. I have a difficult time falling asleep, so I like to fall asleep to conversations. Like I enjoy the TGS Podcast and the Roosterteeth podcast as an example.

Rain is the best relaxant for me, although I cannot hear it anymore where I live. Too far underground in a basement level. :(

Throwing stuff into a skip is oddly relaxing to me. Especially when it makes a satisfying crashing sound. Or maybe I just like to break things.

Watching old Escapist videos I've seen before and porn.

No, not getting off to porn and not videos. Pictures, just browsing, not even particularly turned on by most of them but just browsing fakes or hentai foundry is oddly soothing for me. Of course I don't do that too much...

Could it be? I am not alone in this world? We should hang out sometime.

But yes, driving. Relaxing stuff.

Yeah, you're not alone. Out of curiosity, what do you drive? Me, I drive a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer, which I've called Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, and it is my baby. It's one of my favorite vehicles, and my favorite out of the cars I've driven and owned. Great handling, MPG, and comfort. Hell, at the moment I'm working on upgrading its audio system (Pioneer makes amazing speakers for what you pay) and all I have left to do there is figuring out subwoofer placement and installation. Next on my list is softening up the suspension just a tad more.

Eh, just a plain ol' Nissan Micra, or well, did until it lost its soul through the exhaust pipe (or wherever those souls go). Am car-less at the moment, but I never complain if I'm voted a designated driver at least.

The car I felt best driving though? Was a Volkswagen Passat.

Being choked with a vascular choke (as opposed to a trachea choke). I think anyone who's done Brazilian Jiu Jitsu knows what I mean.
