In the last company i worked for, late one evening we caught a new member of staff in the sales team using the phones to run an escort agency. He was calling girls to book their appointments and calling the "clients" to tell them where to meet the girls.
Problem for him was that he forgot that all calls are recorded and anything out of place gets listened to. Have to say some of the conversations were hilarious! He had been with the company 2 days by the way!
So whats the most strange or shocking thing you have seen done by a fellow employee?

One of my female coworkers became the office den-mother: making bread in a bread-maker beneath her desk, putting up balloons on our desks for birthdays, getting us all together to watch Dancing with the Stars (in the office), even organizing an Easter egg hunt. This was in Iraq, and we worked for a 2-star general.

In high school... I worked at a coffee shop near the campus. Besides the manager and a couple of the supervisors- it was pretty much run by students from the High school.

one of the girls we hired never did anything besides work the register... which she was not very good at either. One time I asked her to mop while we were closing and she just looked at the mop and said "umm... I dont really do that... or know how" so I actually took the mop out and moved around, as in to pantomime "its fucking easy"

I handed it to her and she said "oh... well you can handle it, why dont you do it?"
she was fired the next day.
just wonder how people like that expect to keep a job with that attitude

Once I worked in a restaurant with my friend (we where both doing the dishes every day), and one day he just decided to eat some of the leftovers we got.

Not that strange, but it's the best I got.

And that pizza was tasty anyway.

I saw my cousin once playing smash the apple on your forehead while he was working at the supermarket! hewasn't that smart.
Its funny because the one person in my graduating class who was most likely to be seen blowing up stuff and doing stupid things that could seriously hurt him... went off to MIT with a 4.0 GPA and AP honors.

On my trial day working at unpacking boxes for a clothes store, a woman threatened to stab me 'cause she thought I took her box-opening knife.

o_O It was my first day.. A trial day no less... I never went back T^T

I had a new employee trying to tell the supervisors what to do (like he was the boss). We all looked at each other then told him to take a bucket of water, go to the freezer and let us know how long until it freezes. He laughed, we didn't. One of us even started filling up the bucket. He asked if we were serious. Our lead told him that if he tried telling the supervisors to do something like that again, he'll know if we're serious or not.

needless to say, he was fired within a month.

I didn't like the guy from day 1

One ex boss of mine, a rather boorish female boss of mine was a complete monster. She'd scream the place down if I folded paper into an envelope differently to how she did it. I'd asked my other (male) boss if I was doing anything wrong and he said what I was doing was perfectly fine.

I have no idea why my female boss wigs out over something as trivial as that. But needless to say, that particular firm I worked for had a VERY high turnover of staff.

Servers at the hotel I used to work at would always walk into the fridge and snack on some of our prepped trays of things. Really got annoying. So the girls in the pastry shop made a tray of chocolate truffles, put them in the fridge, and sure enough people snacked on em. Only turns out she put garlic cloves in all of them.
Highlarious.

Do you have transcripts?
From memory, at least?
I do remember 2 particular things, this was on a call to a lass who he wanted to work for him.
Apparently if you arent with an agency, like his, and independent, you will have to sleep with dirty, sweaty, ugly men in a hotel and if that hotel burns down you arent insured. I think insurance is the least of her concern, but nice try.

The other phrase he used which became a bit of a catchphrase in the office was towards the end of this conversation. "Throw in some anal and we can do business!"

Classy fella
