hey escapist, first thing. i used the search bar.

second thing, i'm wondering if there's any games for the PC that are strategy i'd like. I enjoy the base-building in warcraft III and making a sea trade and economy in Rome:total war, but not really into the battles that much. any suggestions?

EDIT: needs to be quite low end, and inb4 anymore civ series posts.

EDIT 2: prefferbly no battle related stuff in it, just base-building, economic stuff.

I've tried civ3 and civ4 and they don't seem to work on my laptop :( but good try. oh and another thing, they have to be quite low-end because i have an intergrated card :(

Perhaps the Civilisation series, there's not much of a base building aspect except for city improvements and such, but they're very good games for trade and economy and other political things.

Damn, Ninja'd.

Ok well some of my favorites are: Age of Empires 2, Starcraft, Battle for Middle Earth 1.

You have integrated? That's unfortunate.

Try Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds. It's low end and very fun.

Command and conquer. Personally, I hate base building and resource management, so I hated C&C. But if you are into that sort of thing, go for it. Also, maybe Star Craft 2.

StarCraft 2 isn't out yet.
Although, I recommend Civ 2, Star Wars: Galatic Battlegrounds, Command and Conquer (there are many of them), Starcraft (and Brood War, the expansion), and Age of Empires 3.

Avoid the star wars RTS's - It tends to be a case of you cant have enough units for purpose. :(

Than Civ 2. That is the only game I know of without a multitude of battles. Try taht.

Any of the Caesar games. They're pretty much all about the Empire Management, and less about how Rome REALLY grew if memory serves. Barring that, get your greasy hands into EVE. It's the Economy management game that never ends. Ever.
