What's the most bizarre, weirdest map you've ever made on a strategy map creator? I think one map in Red Alert 2, I covered 90% of the entire maps with gems and with only room for about 5 buildings, and in a city. Needless to say, the only building I ever constructed was a barracks, some power plants, and a nuke silo.

I made one in C&C generals zero hour. The map was huge so i built two seperate islands. Then created a chain of high ground around the edge of each island except for a small gap. I used the editor to place aircraft carriers from the story missions into the water and gave a few to each team. Then I placed a huge wall of stinger sites on one island and a huge wall of EMP patriots.

Set a few airfields on each side and added tonnes of supplys on each side as well. Me and my best mate played over LAN and duked it out. He was using the chinese and I was the US. It was just so awesome watching each other trying to get past the defenses with our massive waves of aircraft then watching them burn out in a blaze of utter glory.

Too bad I never got that map to work with AI though.

I made a map in Age of Empires II: The Conquoers which was essentially a fortress being attacked by numberless waves of enemies. I gave myself a bunch of archers, crossbowman, arbalests, scorpions, hand-cannoners, castles, watchtowers... you get the picture. I put all of this inside of two walls with cliffs on either side forcing the enemy attack head-on. What made it really interesting was the fact the enemy had absolutly NOTHING that had any sort of range or building destroying capabilities at all. So mainly the enemy army was made up larges numbers of Cataphracts, war elephants, and large numbers of melee troops. The enemy would advance on my walls and sloooooowly hack away at them, while my range units inside would slaughter them indescriminately. Once they broke through the first wall a thin line of swordsman were waiting inside and quickly threw themselves at the enemy. Eventually the enemy would break through the second line and then would proceed to slaughter most of my troops. Finally I would degarrison the milita I had in the 3 castles inside my base (As well as the militia that somehow got stuck IN the castles area. They weren't really in it they were just on the castles sprite and couldn't move until the castle was destroyed.) as a last resort to stop the enemy. I kept fiddling around with it; giving the enemy more troops to help them breach my walls, putting a couple lines of my wolves outside the walls to slow the enemy down, granting the enemy seige rams for help, deploying a group of trebuchets to bombard the enemy troops as they approached. Eventually though I guess I gave the enemy too many troops (a good quarter of the mini-map was red to give you an idea) as they just stood there throughout the game, so I guess I broke it. :( It was fun while it lasted though.

I used to go to my friend's house and we fooled around with the Empire Earth map creator a lot. We once made a fair approximation of the D-Day invasion, which took a long time, and we recreated many other historical battles as well. The weirdest one, however was the largest possible map covered entirely in an ocean full of enemy battleships frigates and cruisers, with a small raised island in the center that had a friendly airbase. We also had a few submarines. Launching strikes against the cruisers with our subs to pave the way for airstrikes against the helpless battleships was so fun.

I made a Starcraft map that made the shape of a cow. Loosely.
I know it's not much, but at least I haven't ever used a map editor to scribble giant penises.
