Not storing your money in a bank might be one of the smarter things to do. To put it another way, would you trust ME with your consoles and games? Yeah, maybe a game or two... but all of them? Every single one?

No. Banks are no different.

Glad to see the Shoryuken guys helping out. Good on them.

I love reading stuff like this, i hear a lot of people saying gamers go nowhere and only care about themselfs, then i see things like this and it warms my heart.

It seems that there's more and more positive gaming publicity around as time goes by. perhaps it's becoming *gasp* acceptable?

It's stuff like this and Child's Play and and Desert Bus that go a long way in making me proud to be a gamer.

And this is why I use a credit union. Beats a bank any day and they aren't trying to grub my money from me. Also it's fire-proof. Oh and the story is nice. Real touching and all that jazz.

This is one of the things games does to people, and guys like Atkinson and Thompson can take away our games but they can never take away our sense of community, when the chips are down we band together, even if we do live miles apart.

As a fellow SRKer, im going to donate what i can to help Chris Hu. SRK is all about the players, and we should help one of our own if in need. (also, his Ryu is sick :p )

now if this makes it to prime time news and bring to light that the gaming community isn't only made of 13 yo racist homophobes it would even be nicer than this already good news.

Hang in there families affected by the fire!

Given all the crap news in the world that makes me want to go and live in a cave, stories like this really do help to restore my faith in human kindness just a little bit.

Massive respect to all those organising and donating.
