Street Fighter: The Worst Movie of 2009

I caught this at a friends place. I am a KungFu movie buff and I've watched some godaweful movies if it's got halfway decent fights (example:seven swords) This movie didn't even have that. It wasn't evne the 'so bad it can be funny' type shit. It was just plain Bad.

On a related note, I finally learned what the M in M.Bison stood for, and that alone will forever distance me from anything Street Fighter.

Do tell. I'm guessing it's Mike?

I still don't get how company execs go to these things and are like "yeah this is a good movie" and let it go. Was the script badass by itself or something?

If they made a Street Fighter 2010 movie, all would be forgiven...but would it be better or worse to hand the reigns over to Uwe Boll or not?

I never went to see it but I already knew it was going to be bad. Most movies that are inspired from video games are horrible. I am surprised Uwe Boll did not direct it.

Cos that one wasn't serious about it's self it knew it was silly BS.

Yep...

There's bad puns, then there's oversized white dudes in military dress and a cape going by the name of Mike Bison.

Actually, Mike Bison isn't really Bison's name. Mike Bison was/is the name of the boxer character in the Japanese versions of SF2, obviously when exporting the game outside of Japan they couldn't leave it that way given the, well, rather blatant inspiration for the character's look and design. Thus Capcom switched the names around a bit during the translation and I'm not totally sure the M in M. Bison was ever actually officially expanded upon. It could still be Mike, but I've also heard Master and Major as possibilities to name only a couple.

In Japan:
Vega = dictator military guy
Balrog = guy with claw and mask
Mike Bison = boxer

Outside of Japan:
Vega = guy with claw and mask
Balrog = boxer
M. Bison = dictator military guy
