Doesn't surprise me at all especially if 50% of test subjects were female. Imagine a girl listening to "I'm gonna beat that pussy up." etc. 17 h in a week, there is a slim chance she's a virgin.
Yep. Makes me think of that Lil' Wayne concert in Montreal last month. A bunch of teenage black and white girls singing along to such romantic classics as "Fuck tha World", "Cum On", "Fuck wit Me Now", "Fuck You", "Hoes", "Ain't That a *****". By the way, I don't know if he sang any of those songs, I just went to wikipedia to get a list of beautiful song title.

In highschool I didn't listen to songs with explicit sexual lyrics because they're stupid and meaningless.
And maybe the sort of idiots who are into that music are the same sort of idiots responsible for teen pregnancy? It's no secret that smart/nerdy kids are less likely to get laid.

They've also found out that violent media turn kids into blood-thirsty genocidal murderers.

Crazy, huh? We need to be weary of the little kids on XBL, lest they start civil wars with their fiendish behavior.

I'm going to have to side with the Brook representative on this one. I can hardly believe that there is a direct correlation between type of music and the amount your getting. Also, I would like more information on how this was carried out. As someone previously stated, if they didn't separate the results into tighter age groups than this study might as well have been about that awesome Rush album cover. After all, what are the 13 year olds listening to nowadays? Hanna Montana. While it would be amusing to hear, I'm almost certain Hanna Montana has yet to have any song with lyrics such as "I'm gonna beat that pussy up."

Side note, in the past week I have seen around 3 news articles relating some type of mundane activity to sex. Are we that desperate to know why others are getting more of it?

Side-side note, 1000th post. Woot!

...citing as an example the romantic classic, "I'm gonna beat that pussy up." I laughed so hard when I read this...

But other experts cautioned against drawing "simplistic" conclusions from the study...

Obviously the cultural environment plays a part, but that is not to say there is a causal link. It is far too simplistic to say just because someone listens to this music they have sex. There are a variety of factors that influence decisions."
Also, that's pretty much all I have to say.

It's not exactly the music, it's the person.

A person is not shaped by the music...the person shapes the music they listen to. If songs about "sex, drugs, and DSFARGEG" appeal to people who do sex and drugs, well, what are the odds, eh?

;/

As the 'expert' said, culture comes into play a lot more. Parents who refuse to let kids listen to certain kinds of music are less likely to be lenient with their child's relationship(s).

In other news 9/10 white kids who listen to rap have reported they have had sex
As we all know, 9/10 white kids who listen to rap are liars

Just because two things are close to each other doesn't mean they are in any way related.

Buh.. buh... buh... i likey da thread :(

On a more serious note, Music IS sex according to various other studies. So yes, people who listen to a lot of music get a lot of sex. sex sex sex. Cos I prolly can't get away with that in any other thread... sex.

EDIT: lol, thats totally not what I thought of when I saw cherrypicking >_>

It's a News thread... it's supposed to be current. He didn't post a study contradicting the data, or anything that would stimulate discussion, he just posted an agreement. It stinks of post-whoring (and yes, I see the irony of me posting to call him out on post-whoring).
