The mingled sorrow and jubilation in the singer's voice... if you have never watched Trigun, you need to, if only to understand what I mean when I say, "What kind of churchman are you?"

...woah, it's been so long since I watched Trigun but that song almost made me cry like it did back then. That series had some amazing music. Thanks man.

I really like the song Snake Eater from Metal Gear Solid 3. Every time I hear that song when she hits those notes, I get this chill up my spine. It's a great feeling.
Also, I love Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture.

I went through the thread and followed every vague link to Youtube just to make sure, and nobody brought up Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings?

Let's see, what are some other hauntingly beautiful songs I could link to... ah!

Those should do for now.

I think Videotape is kinda meh. Exit Music (For a Film) or Motion Picture Soundtrack are more beautiful.
Videotape is an acquired taste, I find a lot of people who don't like it. Even I didn't really think it was all great the first time I listened, but after a while I fell in love.
How To Disappear Completely IMO

I find this very beautiful even though it's only instrumental, and I almost cry when I hear it.
Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen) and Fix You (Coldplay) and Mad World (Erlend Bratland) are some of the other songs that make me choke up when I'm listening to them.

You want a stunningly beautiful song?
Well, I am here to submit my own choice on this:
Just listen to it... how does it make you feel, eh?
Well, I was also serious about the other submission.
Maybe someone will enjoy them as much as I.

There's a lot, and I mean a lot. I could go through the classics but they are bone fide and do not need more emphasis as they have established their place. For those that are not as widely know and appreciated;

I Will Always Love You - Dolly Parton's version, she can send tears from my ears with minimal effort. Her voice is just gorgeous.

In the Sweet By and By - I have only heard Dolly sing this one but it still applies.

Peggy Gordon

Nothing Compares Too You by Sinead O'Connor

Moments of Pleasure by Kate Bush

Dry Your Tears Afrika from the movie Amistad. This compares the two things John Williams' scores can do, make you feel sadness and adrenaline both simultaneously.

and call it cheese if you will, but There's a Whole Lot of Leaving by Bon Jovi. I love Bon Jovi and do am not ashamed of it.

YouTube these, they are worth replays.

One of the best is Chopin's Waltz in A Flat Major, which is breathtaking:

And of course, one of the most beautiful pieces of music of all time:

Seriously? I'm gonna have to post it?
*sigh*

And by the way, keep posting new songs, people! We can't let such a wonderful thread die!
