I have found a really bad glitch in minecraft. mobs can glitch and spawn near your bed. now for about a week game time i was out exploring and building outposts. when i returned to my main base i found four creepers next to my bed. i dont think i have to explain what happened next but now i am missing part of my house.

Don't put your bed right next to the wall? I know that when you sleep in a bed next to a wall they can come through, so it might be to do with a glitch in that.

I think that only happens when your bed is directly against a block. Mobs often spawned when I was asleep, thankfully never creepers, just skeletons and zombies. I hope your problem stops. :D

hahah, i'm sorry but I have to have a giggle at that. I personally haven't found creepers in my house... you sure you've got enough light in there and all the entrances sealed?

Good for you. So why exactly did you feel this needed an entire thread? I'm not sure what we're supposed to say about this.

I'm guessing we're supposed to talk about video game enemies that annoy us. Well I've been playing Crawl recently, which if you don't know is a cruel roguelike game that likes to kill you. A lot. When you get into the extended end game, it does this through fiends. Fiends are asshole demons that come in several varieties, but the reason they are all feared is because they cast torment. Torment cuts your HP in half. It can't be avoided and will always hit you provided you are in the casters vision. Even with the best resistance available, it only reduces the damage to 35% of your health bar. So whenever fiends show up, they tend to torment you until you have almost no HP and are killed by a gust of wind. Infuriating bastards.

You should have just turned the difficulty to peaceful to despawn them.. Some might consider it cheating, i consider it not waasting an hour of my time rebuilding a bit of house that is only gone due to a glitch.

Beds act as mob spawners when you sleep in them. It will check for any non-lit part of the room or any entrance from connecting rooms that are unlit, or an exit to outside, and if such a place exists, it will spawn a mob next to your bed.
The code glitches, however, if the bed is placed adjacent to a one block thick wall. The check does not see the wall as existing, and thus finds an entrance to the bed, spawning a mob.
If you were not sleeping in your bed and this happened, it is likely just a bug in the game. Try using the force update option and re-downloading the patch.

i agree with u guys in sayin that it is funny and i was like sonofa when it first happened but then i was just like oh well ill just rebuild it with gold or iron or somethin. yeah i had part of it against the wall but its really annoying having a bed stuck in the middle of the room.

I once spent around 5 hours building a giant pyramid with glass floors over lava, and lava running down from the roof to the moat around the whole thing.
Then... SSSSSSSSssssssss.
And because beds don't break from fire or having the blocks underneath removed, I was trapped in a loop of falling into lava and spawning above it again. IT WAS HORRIBLE.

Wow, that deserves a round of applause. seriously, If that happened to me I'd be devastated.

And as for OT: Beds that have a wall on their left or right seem to spawn monsters for me, but when the end is touching a wall I seem to be fine. If it's in the middle of the room you'll be OK. If you do a quick search on placing beds safely, I'm sure you'll find someone who can explain it.
