How is it that if two people lie in the same bed on a cold night, they're freezing. But if they lie together, they both get warmer. They're both cold, so how does it work that the two together produces heat?

Human bodies produce heat, it's jsut that when it's cold, the heat is lost to the surroundings more than when it is hot. If you have someone else radiating heat next to you, you retain more heat.

What I want to know is, when both my feet are cold, and I put them together, they feel colder. You'd think that'd mean they are both losing heat to each other.

You lose heat out of the surface area of your body. By lying with someone you remove a chunk of that surface area and replace it with a surface that's radiating as much temperature as you. I guess together you heat the surrounding blankets faster too.
