Come Dine With Me, because everyone, including the voiceover man, are annoying wankers. My sister always watches it whenever she comes down for the holidays, but it's one of the most unfunny shows I've ever watched, and it's not even in the comedy genre.

I hate Two and a Half Men with unknowable fury. Why is the laugh track playing every 3 seconds? I ask because in any given episode I might laugh at 2 jokes at the most and that's if it is a good episode.

I also hate Big Bang Theory. Just because you can reference 80's gaming culture doesn't mean it's funny or watchable.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is another one just because it's so tedious to even watch. If it's boring to watch it can't be funny.

Brickleberry. To me this seems like South Park if you took out what makes South Park good. You know all of the commentary on the world and jabs a groups and people. With all the good stuff gone you're left with unlikeable characters and jokes that are just for shock value.

I'll turn the question right around and tell you about the shows I like on TV.

The Tudors: because historical fictions are awesome, and so much more fun than sitting around waiting for someone who's in front of a bigger desk than you to start chewing facts together.

The Borgias: for the exact same reason.

A Game of Thrones: largely because it's the same as the previous two, with a light drizzle of fantasy elements. Of course, the fantasy elements are growing more pervasive as time goes on (White Walkers, wooo!) but I don't mind. It'll allow this delicious mix of The Tudors, Les Rois Maudits and The Lord of the Rings to boil down to a more centralized form. I'd like to expect Westeros to stop dicking around once the Wall will be breached, but I'm fairly sure everyone's going to keep messing with everyone else for the sake of claiming that damn throne.

Really, I'd be curious to get a look at Jonah Aryn's ghost. Poor dude's probably shaking his head in dismay at all this.

Revolution: the premise, insofar, has been captivating. It's like returning to the heady days of the first two seasons of LOST, when you couldn't get to bed without having those damn numbers floating in a corner of your mind.

Dexter: I keep coming back to this even though the same plotlines are beginning to be revisited. Dex is adjusting with the idea of being a single parent and with the fact that as much of a monster as he thinks he is, he sure damn loves his son - while Debra's still stuck bouncing from romantic fuckup to romantic fuckup because it seems that's the only thing the screenwriters see her as being any good at - which sucks.

Granted, I think I'm two seasons behind most people. No spoilers, please!

I used to watch True Blood, and I did so religiously for the first three seasons. Then shit turned increasingly crazy, Sookie's reached the pinnacle of Sue-dom at least a year ago, Tera's a vamp now and Bill's this evil supervamp ************.

I - pretty much clocked out at that point. I have no clue if this is faithful to the books, having never read them, but I'd like to imagine this is so OTP there's no way in Hell Charlaine Harris put that on paper. I mean, seriously. If Stackhouse ends up forgiving Bill after his basically turning into a Marvel Comics supervillain, that tears it.

As for the rest of what's on TV, I really couldn't care less. I see people going "Fuck, Honey Boo-Boo is destroying television!" and I'm reminded that the same thing used to be said about Canadian or American Idol, or The Bachelor, or anything else that's widely popular yet intellectually bankrupt.

The sanest and simplest thing to do is to either VOD what you like or record it (which is what I mostly do) or Torrent it. The Internet gives you the power to pick and choose what you want - sitting there complaining about the small screen's state won't help you.

I've never "hated" any shows unless someone forces me to sit there and watch it with them. I have mildly disliked a few shows but then I've simply turned them off / switched to something else.
I dunno how you grow to "hate" a show.

I don't like the x factor programme very much, I don't watch it but I am sometimes exposed to it and it seems to be the same thing every year, a load of rubbish with a couple of very talented people. talented in that they can sing, they would make great session musicians but none of them seem to be able to write a good song. they get that one single that sells after they win and then you never hear from them again.
I don't want to sound mean because by all means chase your dream (except for the ones that flat out say I want the mansion and cars etc).
it's just a bit repetitive.

I dislike heavily the uk soaps such as eastenders.
there is nothing worse than coming home from work and having to put up with a load of cockneys shouting and screaming at each other. (my mum watches it religiously) also the setting is sooo depressing, I know they are supposed to be working class but the lives the actors portray is so bleak and hopeless.
it's like shameless without being funny.

UK Soaps, magicians, gameshows, ponies, reality tv, american comedy or anything involving the general public, singing, dancing, or "talent" in any possible combination.

Not much left to watch!

I think just telling you that I don't actually have TV is a good indication of what I think about THAT medium. I have a friend who knows what I like who still hasn't rid himself off it, and he tells me about stuff I might enjoy. The only shows I regularly watch (Either on online stuff like iTunes and whatnot or by buying each season when the boxset comes out) are Game of Thrones (Long time ASOIAF crazyperson), Dr Who, and Sherlock. I actually really enjoyed Lost, though I've heard a lot of bad about it. The ending was kinda stupid, but it was a really fun show to watch.

So, yeah, assume everything I don't mention I either haven't tried to watch or hated.

(Also, anything labeled as "Reality" TV makes me almost physically sick)

I like to imagine that the voice over man is actually a poltergeist that follows the contestants wherever they go. They can hear him, but they are trying their best to ignore his idiotic, disembodied jibes. That's why everyone is so irritable in those shows.

Sit back, this is gonna be a long one. *AHEM*

I hate current Tween sitcoms with a passion, especially when it takes TV slots away from cartoons (and on channels meant for cartoons!)

Speaking of which I'm not fond of so-called "mature" cartons that's just fart jokes and black humor (Like most of Adult Swim's lineup - though admittedly there are exceptions. And why did they have to bring back Toonami, only to put it on really late at night!? ...It's just for the nostalgia dollar, isn't it?)

Finally, while I do admit to enjoying some reality TV like Jackass for example, I can't stand shows like Jersey Shore or... shudder... Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. Shows like that make me want to stab something...

...Thanks for letting me vent, though I hope I haven't gone overboard...
nah your fine. any time you need to vent just ask.

The Walking Dead?! Really? I personally thing that it is one of the best shows on TV if not the best. I agree with you on The Big Bang Theory though, that show is awful, without the laugh track its just nerdy references that apparently are funny just because their nerds.

Look at that.

Tell me that is not the worst thing you have seen.

Tell me.
i can't. this is kind of why most other countries says Americans are morons. not because they have people like this, god no, we have them too. but i never get why in america they give these money people so large amount of fame and glory and respect when any thinking human being would have tossed them down a gator pit...come to think of it THAT would be the type of reality show i would watch.
People here in America don't think at all that these people are an ideal family. Do you really think that people who watch that show have any respect at all for this family? People watch Honey Boo Boo to see a redneck family do stupid and ridiculous things in order to feel better about themselves. That family is getting national attention alright but it's not glory, or fame, or respect. People just want to laugh at and exploit them pure and simple.

As for the producers of the show... well no one really likes them either.

You know, after watching that South Park episode I thought it was just a made-up shit show.

The feeling, the emptiness inside, I now have a big black cold hole inside of me ever since I discovered it was real.

So much hate...

Honestly I don't think there is a show I hate enough (as of writing) that I could rant about how horrific it is, normally I stop watching before the urge to kill everything kicks in. Though many of the shows mentioned I have a general dislike for, especially shows like Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother recently as the writing/characters seem to have taken a nose dive, but I don't really hate that, disappointed would be more accurate.

*reads own post* yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, i could have formulated that better. see it's not that Americans are like that (well obviously these Americans are, but lucky for us they are very few) this is how the rest of the world sees america.
since you (and by you i mean the moneys that produce this visual sewage) choose to broadcast this(along with hate-creating shows like "My Sweet 16" and "jersey shore") and only this to other nations. this is how we see america. i personally choose to see the american family like the Simpsons family (with lesser disasters and space travels) but these shows clutter up our tvs. at least here in Europe. making this the the sign of the average american family. that's really really sad.

"i think i am watching an al-quida recruitment film, these kid makes you wanna be getting down on your knees and pray for a nuclear Holocaust" - Charlie Brooker, British journalist

real Americans aren't like this, real Americans have a brain inside their scull and know the world doesn't consist around them. no matter what nationality you are you basically the same people. these people are just a little bit more shit. really? ho's idea was it to give morons attention. morons go away if you don't give them attention why would we wanna keep them?

i don't know the producer, don't want to check either for after that stupid bloody idiotic intro clip (the fart joke one) i don't have to. i just need to point to a kindergartner who was dropped on he's head and go: HIM!!!
