At long last, winter is upon us here in the south of Sweden. Or at least, the snow is. During the last week or so, it has been snowing like crazy and in the the town where I live, many roads are left plowed fairly poorly. It doesn't get plowed very deep, and it only gets pushed aside instead of taken off the road in a more proper manner. Not only that, but many roads are plowed in a way that forces cars to drive on a road barely any wider than a single-file road.
It has gotten to the point where radiospeakers are encouraging people to stay at home and avoid going out for a drive.
However, some seem to have little regard for these weather conditions and continue to drive as if there was no snow whatsoever. Which leads me to the 'targets' of this thread; Buses (and probably, by extension, their drivers). I ride the bus almost every day to and home from school and this has started to bug me. They fly through traffic, cutting corners and roundabouts like there's no tomorrow (something that causes them to slide several metres on occasion) and generally drive worryingly fast. They almost get you wherever you're going in time though, so it isn't all that bad.
Do correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't these huge machines drive more carefully, especially during these conditions?
So discussion here is pretty much divided into three sections:
Do the buses in your area drive sensibly, considering the weather?
Should they drive so fast just so that they can almost keep their schedule?
Do you in any way feel uneasy when riding the bus under these conditions, or do you find the roller coaster-ish ride hilarious?
You are of course welcome to contribute with your own stories of bus-riding zaniness.

I think they should consider slowing down a fair bit, since it's not all that relaxing to ride the bus, and they still don't get there on time. Maybe they should consider temporarily re-scheduling for the duration of this extraordinary weather.
That is not to say that I don't think it's somewhat fun to ride the bus and feel it gliding along the road for a good 3 metres before getting a grip again. But that doesn't mean it doesn't feel like it's an accident waiting to happen. Especially considering the noise they make when they drive over bumby roads (seriously, they sound like they're about to fall apart).
