For the sake of this not turning into a clusterfuck I going to say no NPCs while in combat, if there any they shall be controlled by me. This rule does not include enemy NPCs, seeing as I'm pretty sure you can tell what happens when shoot a guy in the face.

With quickness, dexterity, and stealth unexpected from one of his brutish race, Vfraar stepped out the shuttle, gun raised. As he did so a series of metal plates slid upward from his collar and around his head, ending in a one-way visor that slid down over his face. Inside, his HUD lit up with a 3D map of the ship they were in, speedily updating to match it's current condition. A tiny little group of blue dots in the docking bays represented the Sentinel Squadron.

"Clear." he said into the communicator. "There are a few baddies moving around randomly on the floor above us, but the shuttle bays and their connecting halls seem to be empty." Just because his HUD said so though, didn't always mean it was true. There were always hidden surprises, and so it was necessary to be cautious.

"There's a door straight ahead, about 150 yards, that's the way we wanna go. Me, Tenebris, Corien and Regrel will take front, Stevenson and Shannow stay behind us. Rezzea, take the right flank and check behind those storage dividers. Aza take the left flank." He glanced at Zeradere. "I'll take point, unless the Captain wants to."

Lucia twitched. faster than anyone can blink, he threw a knife where he had heard a sound. No-one had even reacted by the time he had thrown the knife. It flew silently through the air, point forward at all times. It disappeared into the shadows, where it his something with a sickening thud. A body fell forward; it was a mutant with strange claws, a plasma rifle, and increased muscles in the legs. the rest of its body was lanky and almost seemed disconnected. eight more knives flashed into Lucia's hands as he listened for the slightest sound. He approached the mutant, took back his knife, then quickly stood up again. "He seemed almost to have camoflauge." Lucia said as he backstepped towards the group.

I won't be posting untill the next day. If I'm lucky I'll post in the morning. If I don't, I'll post in late morning. And if I'm really unlucky mid-day But then again. I might be able to post today. But I can post!

He lifted his body up into the air and did as Vfaar said.

"Frontline Infantry? I don't like it. But then again, first in, first serve."
He said.

He swirled his neck and did some basic stretching. You never want to pull a muscle or get a cramp in the field. He recalled a moment when he saw an enemy soldier that got a cramp in the hand and before he knew it, he was a war casualty.

After finishing these rather simple precautions that could easily save his life, he stepped outside.

Is there air in the ship? In the mean time, I'll write that there isn't any

He realized that there was no air so he tightened his helmet and body armour. It was basic safety as a ship with a mutant and in this case, mutants the air there is ( breathable or unbreathable ) would probably be INFECTED. He didn't want to be one of those things.

He reached for his SMG's when it came to him that he didn't know what he was going to find and going in with the wrong weapon can mean the difference between victory and defeat. So he just pulled his right SMG and extended it.

He didn't want to talk but this seemed to be a tactical advantage so he decided to ask the Talonisk something

" Excuse me, Vfaar sir. May I scout ahead in stealth mode and open the door. If anything is behind that door it won't detect me and the team will be able to gun down any threats. I'm a Stealth Hit and Runner so I'm more of a Stealth Soldier. If that is okay with you or the Captain" He asked shyly.

Alright cool

As Vfraar rattled off commands, Isaac looked around the room. The story was the same for each corpse in the dock: Dead, most likely KIA. "We got here too late" Isaac thought to himself as he fell into formation.

Rezzea simply nodded and turned on a small com-link device on her upper chest.
As she quietly sprinted towards the right side of the room, she found a series of doors.
She stepped quietly forward, opened one, peaked inside, and then closed it again. This she did for the next three, but the last one, she opened and went inside.

"Captain, I think I've found something sickening.."
Rezzea said through her com-link as she picked up a clipboard, laying on top of a barrel labeled 'Plasma'.
As she reached behind it and felt the barrel, she suddenly found an explosive device rigged to it. And it was beeping.

Before even waiting for authorization, she used her pistol to crack it open, then she unsheathed her sword and cut the wires to mush.
As she quickly slowed her breathing and sheathed her sword, she clamped together the bomb and carried it outside to CC Vfraar.

"Sir, I'm afraid the mutants ARE planning something... They've rigged the ship"

Regrel snatched the explosive from Rezzea with stubby hands and began scanning over. After a moments pause, he cocked his head slightly to one side. Then the realization hit him.

"Get back," he said with urgency. Panicked, Regrel began searching in his belt. Seconds later he pulled from one of his pouches a small, silver device that looked like a shirt button. Placing the explosive on the ground the Grel placed the device on top of it and backed away. As he did so the device began to glow, just as a small red light on the explosive danced back into life.

"Duck!"

Regrel threw himself behind a half mutilated body, prepared for the explosion. Instead there was simply a small sound like hearing an explosion miles away.

For the second time that day Regrel breathed a snort of relief as he got up off the ground and returned to where the explosive had been. In it's place was a pile of black dust surrounded by what looked like a glowing bubble. Regrel placed his finger on the bubble and it popped, leaving nothing but the remains of the explosive behind.

"That is why when you find an explosives you leave it to the explosive expert," he said with a growl "It's just lucky I'd thought to bring a force field with me."

Regrel ran his hands though the dust, letting it trickle between the digits of his paw.

"This wasn't a timed charge. It was made to go off if someone tampered with the device. Someone like us." He straightened up "They're cleverer than we thought. They where waiting for us. That mutant in the shadows and now this explosive will tell you as much. If we wish to continue we must be cautious."

Isaac listenned carefully. "But how smart can they be? What if the rigged the bodies up with explosives? What if they're rigged up with explosives?" Just to drive his point home, Isaac gave a quick glance at the mutant that had just been killed. "How much explosives could they even be packing? What if they accidentaly blow a hole in the side of the ship? I doubt they have the technical know how like Regrel does, and even if they do they will probably see killing us as priority."

Lucia thought for a moment. "If we create a vacuum on this ship, or pump out the oxygen then normal explosives would not be able to work, since they require oxygen to burn, correct? That would take care of our explosive problem, and I could still use my power to take out the door, since it doesn't require oxygen to explode. as a bonus, it would kill most of these mutants."

"Yes, when venturing into enemy territory there is always the risk of the unknown."

Aza spoke into his headset in response to Isaac's questions as he kept his flanking position deep in the shadows, looking around the corridor carefully with his sniper rifle

"From the evidence we have, these mutants are suicidal and only care about killing us. Blowing themselves up or blowing the ship up seem to be likely problems we will face and if Lucia can eliminate those risks I'd suggest we let him do his thing...sir"

"That would be a good idea, but when there going to charge into us at this speed it wouldn't matter how much explosives they have, the ships would still be destroyed." Zeredare answered walking over towards a door labeled
Code:
[i]LOBBY[/i]
, the white lettering torn of in certain segments. Before he could push the door upon the noise of armored bodies shuffling across the ground, dragging themselves towards the hangar. The scarping noise came from the three other doors in the bay, growing louder as the mutants drew closer.

"Everybody aim for a door and get ready." Zeredare whispered as he stepped back, keeping his rifle raised at the center door.

To simply put it, only post one combat post per day. The reason for this being is that I don't want three pages of people shooting shit. Also don't kill every enemy at once, at most only kill about three-four mutes in your post.

So please be detailed when dealing with this.

Raising his HSG sniper into a defensive firing position, Aza took careful aim as the first few mutants smashed thought the Lobby door, hurling themselves at the closest Sentinels.

Breathing slowly, Aza fired his first shoot. The high caliber round struck one of the mutants square in the face, exploding like a mushy fruit.

Exhaling slowly, he aimed for a mutant who had stopped and started at the remains of its companion, his next round hitting the dumbfounded mutant in the chest, the force of the round knocking it over. Whether or not it was fully dead was hard to tell, but the amount of blood that was slowly forming around its body suggested it was down for now

Regrel felt his blood pumping. This is why he was in this line of work. Breathing slowly, the Grel twisted a dial on the side of the launcher as the first two mutants went down from gun fire, adjusting the explosives detonation range. Satsified, Regrel raises the X13 just as three more mutants made their way though the cramped door way. He pulled the trigger.

The grenade burst from it's holdings and flew across the room, hitting the mutant square in the chest, knocking him backwards. There was no escape for him now. The bomb had clamped down onto his chest with large spider like legs.

The mutant scrabbled at the orange device on his chest, but it was too late. The organic disintergrator exploded with a loud crackerling sound, bathing the mutant on the ground and the three standing over him in a bright blue light. When the light disappeared all that remained where a pile of armor and blue tinted gore. The device had turned them to mulch.

So much happens when I'm gone! AHHHHhhhhhhhh..... *head splode*
Vfraar nodded his head in approval as Lucia took out the stealthed mutant, then quickly fell back into formation. There were always little surprises, and stealthed units were one of them. His suit used a wide range of tracking and detection systems to show him where people were, but advances in camouflage in recent years had made most stealth systems nigh-undetectable. Even heat signatures were off the list nowadays.

"Sir, I'm afraid the mutants ARE planning something... They've rigged the ship."

He glanced down at Rezzea, and then his eyes widened at the explosive in her hand. Regrel quickly took it from her and scanned it, but by that time Vfraar was already running for cover. He had been around long enough to know that only the DE was to mess with explosives.

Vfraar's mind raced as he emerged from behind the storage canister he had used as cover from the bomb. If the mutants had expected them, then this mission just got a hundred times more dangerous. In an infiltration mission, the chance of success rate plummeted roughly 70% when your enemies caught you on the way in, but if they expected you ahead of time, well... they were in for some deep shit. Either they'd have to abort now and revert to plan B, which was simply beating the enemy ship in a space battle, or they'd have to seriously revise their strategy, and fast.

"Captain, we either need a new entrance plan, or we need to abort." Vfraar said calmly but quickly, as Zeradare walked up to the Lobby door. "We only have 40 minutes till their expected attack, and that's without the time cushion." Even as he said this, his mind was grinding on the possibility that the mutants weren't going to attack the Great White in an hour after all, but rather had planned on getting the Captain aboard and then fleeing.

"Everybody aim for a door and get ready." Vfraar's eyes snapped to the doors, and he suddenly remembered his HUD, and cursed himself. In the urgency of the suspected bomb threat, he had forgotten to be checking the positions of enemy troops.

Several large contingents of red dots, at least twenty of them each, sped down the hallway towards the doors, obviously made up of some of the "random patrols" from before. Vfraar quickly rolled to his right and crouched behind the same canister he had used before, resting the Reverb on the top, aimed at the middle door. Everyone performed perfectly, instantly getting into their respective positions to cover all three doors and allowing each other lines of fire. The Captain was too close for Vfraar's liking, but there was no time now.

"Contact in 3, 2, 1..." The mutants burst through the right door first. The Sentinel squad was well trained, and so without even a briefing or a warm up they successfully pulled off a near-perfect fire rotation on all three doors. Vfraar would wait until more than two people needed to reload, then provide the cover fire his weapon excelled at. At his estimates that gave him about half a minute, just enough time to do some surveillance.

The 3D map of the ship appeared on his HUD, with just enough opaqueness that he could still see the battle clearly in the background. His eyes scanned over it systematically, searching for any other entrances that the mutants might take advantage of. He found one inside the docking bay's control room, a door leading into a small service hallway that wrapped around the exterior wall of the bay and met up with the main hallway outside. No red dots showed up there, but a stealthed mutie could very easily be using it to steak up on them from the flank.

"Corien, head to the control room, 100 yards and dead 9:00 from your position. Check for flankers in the service corridor. We'll cover you." Vfraar said, just as his turn to fire came and he let loose a hailstorm of plasma on the mutant-crammed doorway.

Lucia raised his hand as if to throw something. When his hand had reached the apex, a knife slid into his hand and started to glow. Lucia threw the knife and watched as it sank into a mutant, spreading the glow from the knife to him. Lucia grinned predatorily. "Hit the deck!" He yelled. He snapped his fingers. The front mutant exploded, taking out many of the mutants. Nothing came towards the Setinels. It was a directional explosive, after all. Lucia had eight more knives in his hands within the second. He looked over to Corien, then looked for more mutants. "Damn, how many are there?" Lucia thought.

Rezzea pulled out both her swords and sprinted forwards towards the mutants as fast as she could.
As she began to close in on them, she jumped forward and put her swords to her sides, both pointing out.
Then she spun herself and swirled into the pack, slicing open three and cracking one's jaw.

Afterward, she landed with her hand down, sword first, the other sword up along her back.
She turned around and sheathed her swords, picked up her pistol and shot the mutant who's jaw was well out of place.

She noticed more were coming, so she braced herself.

Nouw pulled out his other SMG, shortened his first one and ran for the nearest mutant. He fired precise rounds into the head of the mutants and dropped a frag while passing their hideous forms. After hearing a short BOOM! He stopped and leaped into cover and from there, he shot down two more and before he knew it, 5 more were going towards him, but didn't see him.

"Where the hell do they come from" he muttered to himself under his breath.

Isaac watched Rezzea sprint forward, melee weapons draw. He let out a silent sigh. "Nothing like charging into the line of fire. I fuckin hate treating friendly fire wounds He though to himself as he turned to the door infront of him. It was the far left door, and it flew off it's hinges as mutants pushed through.

Isaac rose a slight amount and aimed his M303 at the door. His opritcs quickly scanned and targetted the mutants pushing through the door. To his view, weak points on their bodies were highlighted in red. Armour was blue, and armoured weak points were purple. He aimed his Hellfire rifle at the first mutant and pulled the trigger.

The gun had a large degree of kick-back, but Isaac had grown adjusted to it. As rounds burst out the front of the gun, they made a deep, loud thumping noise. Smoke trails immediatly flew between the barrel of his gun and his target.

The first bullet smoked the mutant in the shoulder, stumbling him back a step. The second and third hit him in the chest. He let out a cry as he fell back, blood squirting out of his wounds. The cry itself sounded almost muffled, as one of the shots had hit him in the lung. There was three distinct 'Ka-ping' sounds as the shots went clean through their targets and ricoched of the wall behind him.

As more mutants pilled through the door, Isaac continued to shoot. He made 4 other kills before he had to reload. "Anyone got a plan" he called as he slid another clip into his gun.

I've noticed that people(including me) sometimes forget their character's last names, so I guess I should get in the habit of always calling characters by their first names. *cough* Sci-Fi luver *cough*

Also, Nuke, may I suggest changing the rules of engagement from one a day(since that's not very much) to this; You can't make another combat post until everyone else has also posted. Like with pot lucks, where you can't get seconds till everyone else has gotten seconds. That way it'll keep several people from killing everything themselves, and still(hopefully) keep the combat posts few and detailed. Just a suggestion, take it or leave it.

Would Vfraar talking and thus effecting combat in some way count as a combat post?
