Nouw saw that the carnage began so, without further ado, he sprinted to the operators and took them out fairly easily with a few rounds of his SubMachineGuns. But before he knew it, more of them jumped up to man it.
He continued shooting off the mutants when finally, because of the other Sentinels, they stopped trying to go on.
He walked to the mini-gun turret and signaled the all-clear to the others.
Isaac heard the minigun stop firing. He leaned out and saw that they had them on the run. He fired a few shots into a running mutant. "Alright, get ready for the inevitable counter-attack" he said to the rest of the team.
Nouw saw that the others were already beginning the necessary preparations for the counter attack and he wondered if anyone else was capable of manning a Mini-Gun turret. While wondering, he filled up his ammo,extracted his waste and went into an ambush position.
"Nouw Ready"He informed over the COM.
He wanted to wipe the dripping sweat but there was no air unfortunately. So he just had to ignore those annoying drops.
"Aza, go stealth and investigate that room." Vfraar said, pointing to the open door as he came out from his cover. "Don't attack or touch anything, just go see what's in there." He and the others began a sweep of the engine room, taking out the remaining mutants who were hiding behind the engines and on the catwalks.
"No response yet." he said as he viewed the map of the ship. "It seems as though we took em' all out before they could send a transmission. The ship's own systems will have kicked in by now, but maybe they're too stupid to notice." He stepped up to the minigun, kicking aside dead mutants. "We can use these bodies. Start stacking them up just inside the door."
To demonstrate his intentions, he picked one up and slung it over his shoulder, carrying it across the room and dropping it on the floor about three feet away from the door. Making a trip-up wall with enemy bodies was an ancient military trick, dating back to the very first group of comrades who ever stormed a room.
vfraar glanced at his HUD as he crossed the room for another body. "Alright, now we've got movement. Yea, they're coming now. We still have a couple minutes till they get here though, so lets get this wall built and that bomb planted." He doubled his pace, picking up bodies and tossing them on the ground with the others. "Who here besides me can operate the minigun?."
Aza slipped out of the vents, nodding to the others as he strapped his rifle onto his back and switched on his "Blend" mode, concealing himself as he made his way into the shadows of the room.
He walked slowly, keeping crouched as he kept himself pressed against the wall
"So far its clear sir"
He spoke into the communicator.
He pulled out the heat scope from his sniper rifle and looked through it like a telescope
"Nothing in the room, but I'm getting allot of heat from a door on the far side of the room. Ether there are allot of mutants waiting to charge out of it, or we have even bigger problems"
"I'm not seeing any muties on the far side of that door." Vfraar said, checking his HUD as he continued stacking bodies. "It could just be part of a heating system..." he paused, checking the map in more detail. The other side of that door just wasn't the right place for any kind of heater. There was clearly something very hot over there that wasn't normal.
"Captain, if whatever's behind that door is sensitive, then setting off this bomb might blow us all to hell." He cursed as the hallways and corridors leading to the engine room began to fill with red dots, all speeding towards them. "Damn, we don't have time for this. Baddies incoming, contact in thirty five. Aza, get back in here but keep an eye on that room. That's your priority." Vfraar threw down the last body and then got behind the minigun, as everyone got into position to defend the bomb-setters.
Rezzea heard her commanding officer and got into position.
"Sorry for the hold-up, my vent had the same bomb as I found earlier planted in it, I managed to disarm it, but it sure wasn't easy"
She unsheathed her swords and ran out of the door, jumping the bodies as she did.
Once outside, she found herself a storage room and closed the door, leaving a tiny reef of opening for her to spot the mutants, waiting for her pray, she crouched and got ready to attack as soon as the minigun started.
"Regrel, plant the explosives at the far end of the engine. Make sure to aim the blast away from the thrusters, we don't want to get sucked into the void."
Zeredare kept his rifle raised at the door, lining down his sights as the mutants approached. The door swung open as an advisory swung it open, in its hand it clenched a make shift axe and let out a scream as it charged. Zeredare didn't hesitate to shoot, his pressed the trigger as soon as the freak opened the door. Several of the plasma shots collided with the mutants chest, sending it to the ground followed by a red trail.
More of the mutants ran in, their assault had begun....
Well, now we wait for SMB dude to plant the bomb. Until than we shoot shit...
Isaac had used his kinesis to set up a small barricade. He had a great angle on the door, and now as mutants piled through, he blasted them with the Hellfire rifle. The loud bang was met with mutants screams and blood splatters. But despite his fire, the mutants continued to push into the room. "Hurry the hell up with the explosives." Isaac yelled above the combat.
Vfraar stood silent, not firing, as the first of the mutants rushed in the door and was instantly gunned down. Then another came in, and was likewise dispatched. Then another, and another, and another. The number of them pushing through the door steadily increased, and each time they got a little farther. Still he did nothing.
The minigun was well stocked with ammo, there was no problem there, but he had a plan. And so he waited, crouching behind the blast sheild and leaving the powerful machine idle. Mutants continued to pour in, tripping over his body wall and getting their brains splattered by the Sentinels. Their own bodies added to the pile, and soon the muties were having to push through it and climb over it. The hall outside steadily filled up, the sheer amount of mutants and the weight of them all pressing into the room forcing the dam forward. With a roar they began to spill in like a wave, and that's when Vfraar acted.
Springing to life, he leapt up to the controls and switched the weapon on, a deep hum suddenly filling the room underneath the shouts and plasma fire. The minigun flared to life like a gigantic dragon from the deep places of hell, spewing it's deathly fire across the room and decimating the thick-packed wall of enemy mutants that were rushing towards it.
The minigun was a weapon best used against a lot of people, and in this case Vfraar had planned it just right. The Sentinel's firepower, although accurate and powerful, was not fast or wide-spread enough to have stopped the influx of mutants. So they had eventually all come rushing through. That's where the body wall came in. It was set just close enough to the door that they would trip over it, but just far enough that they wouldn't see it. It did it's job well, sending dozens of them sprawling.
That impediment had quickly built on itself, as the disorganized mutants continued to try and push through. Eventually the door was crammed with them, and their own vast numbers were their downfall. The body wall had grown to the point that it barred their passage almost completely, and now they were all packed into one convenient space.
"You almost done with that bomb?" Vfraar asked almost cheerily as the minigun blazed, mowing down the swarm of mutants. They dropped like flies, and soon enough the pile of bodies had risen to the point that it was impassible. The door was completely crammed with dead bodies. There were muffled shouts and yelling from the hallway outside, but that was all.
"That'll only hold them for a little while." The old lizard said as he powered off the minigun and stepped down to observe Regrel's progress. "I think it's about high time we got out of here."
"Well said" Isaac said, he left hand extended outwords. He was using his kenisis to entangle the bodies tighter. An arm lifted here, a leg moved their, soon the whole mass was writhing, getting tighter, getting stronger. With his othe hand, Isaacc was moving non-essential objects into the barrier: wooden tables, shrapnel, shells, ect. Still, a few well placed explosives and this "barricade" would go down. "That will buy us some time, atleast." he said when he finnished.
Rezzea took a peek out of the crack of the door, and noticed her team had blocked the door, making her or the mutants in-capable of accessing.
She panicked, but quickly slowed her breathing and heart rate in order to stay out of detection of the swarm just lingering outside her door.
As the mob became louder, the door shut, mutants were now completely filling the hallway, that meant that those were the only ones left.
Their entire back-up force, crammed in a tight spot. She did the only reasonable thing to do.
She stood up and grabbed a large bag, usually to transport laundry, and sped across the room, to a cabin. After a few failed tries, she managed to chop the lock off the cabin with her sword, and she gazed upon a dozen plasma rifles, lined up.
"Fuck it, there was no guarantee of survival anyway.."
She whispered to herself as she unloaded all the plasma rounds and plasma grenades into the bag. Soon, a bunch of guns were piled on the floor, and the bag was half-full.
She picked up the last grenade and held it in one hand, bag in the other.
"Fuck off mutants!"
She yelled by the door, the yelling faded and soon, she noticed the door was starting to open, she plugged the pin from the plasma grenade and threw it into the bag, then skid the bag across the floor, before taking cover behind a big freezer door that was off it's hinges for some reason.
Suddenly, the plasma grenade lit off, exploding the rest of the rounds and grenades in the bag, sending mutants, metal and everything in the room in opposite directions. Plasma burns were everywhere.
Rezzea opened her eyes, she was crammed under the door, she noticed a dozen mutants were crawling to their feet, moving slowly and throbbing their heads. But many more lay dead, burned or mutilated on the floor, blood was on the walls and entrails lay upon furniture, and even the furniture showed signs of plasma burns.
"....Damn..."
She squeezed out.
And then a muffled "Help!" followed, almost silenced by mutants groaning.
Sorry for the big combat post, but I felt like I hadn't gotten my fair tray of mutant kills I know, my character keeps getting blasted by doors..... But I'm keeping good faith in our medic
P.S. Fair medical treatment and aftermath is fine, GM decides my injury, even if it means death, I want no exceptions.. None, medical based mutilations, fine, keep it real please..
[spoiler/] Sorry I haven't posted in so long. I would say it was because I was busy but mostly it's because I'm lazy. I'll make this a big one [/spoiler]
As chaos like no other filled the engine room Regrel skidded behind the troops now stationed around and set to work on the bomb.
Flipping a panel on his suits left wrist the Grel punched a cammand into the hologram control panel. As he did so a small round metal plate began to rotate on the demomans chest. Unscrewing it the rest of the way Regrel took the device in hand and then, absent mindedly dodging a severed green arm, he placed the device on the glowing green heart of the engine.
Several metal claws extended themselves from the bomb and plunged themselves into the transparent surface of the core container. A small red light flickered into life and another hologram appeared in front of Regrels small black and blue eyes. Taking tremendous care the Grel began to punch in the code as behind him the minigun roared into life. With a flick of the ear and growl of irritaition Regrel placed one hand over his left ear and continoued the sequence.
Punching in a final cammand the hologram flicked off and the device began to change. It was like watching some alien plant in motion. First it expanded into a cylinder shape, which in turn split into four equal halfs with splayed out like a flower opening it's petals. At the heart of the flower bomb lay several black wires which fanned out and danced over the engine core, embedding themselves in it's surface without leaving a crack where need be. The tangled mess of wires gone the centre of the bomb was revealed, it's glowing red mirror like surface reflecting the rodent face of it's maker. Finally with a little electronic sigh a third and final hologram appeared. Instead of a complicated array of cammands and buttons however all that it showed was a number; 20:00. 19:59. 19:58.
"Time to move."
As he said this he heard an explosion behind him not of his making. The alien turned in anger, his hair on end, his eyes wide as he recognised the yelp of "Help!"
"Why won't that women leave the explosives to the bloody explosives expert?!" He asked the room at large, stepping over the bodys strewn over the room to get to the blocked doorway, whiping an unidentifiable organ from his shoulder as he did so.
Rezzea heard commotion, and saw few bodies were starting to tremble downwards, and she managed to make out familiar hands.
"Aza.."
She yelped out, noticing two mutants were back on their feet on the other side of the giant body-wall, and were dancing around looking for their guns in a hurry.
