Subtle message in Bioshock 2.

So, the premise is that you're a Big Daddy who is linked to 1 and only 1 little sister that you can't live without. Other big Daddy's are also linked to specific little sisters without whom they have no purpose and will die. The little sisters, upon seeing their daddy's taken from them are despondent for all of 12 seconds until you pick them up at which point they are happy to be in your company.

I think this could be explained like thus. Someone on the development team (or possibly the whole team) had a bad relationship in which someone who swore would love him forever. Two days after they parted ways she started swearing the next guy was her one true love. The developers are also implying that women are incapable of being alone.

so my point is 2k games hates women.

Or it's because you were the first Big Daddy to be successfully bonded to a Little Sister, but the later Big Daddy versions have a modified and more flexible bond with their Sisters, and vice-versa.

they see him made out of pure gold, and splicers as classy well dressed people for a mascarade... i am pretty sure reality and "death" goes completely out the window in their minds. they still see rapture as a big ol' pristine city.

Didn't think about that...although it seems kind of odd that they don't think it's weird that they are dirty, don't have socks, have everyone wanting to kill them...

They'd have to be pretty damn delusional for them not to wake up and smell the roses about Rapture.
