I randomly saw this picture of the new Duke Nukem Forever and instantly thought of a similar promo image. I suppose you could just say they are similar. Personally I think it's a cliche.

1 What other odd cliches have you noticed in gaming?

2 What do you think about DNF?:

1. Zombie [insert anything at all here]

2. I don't think about DNF. I'll think about it when it comes out, not before.

A Space Marine is you! It's so cinematic and immersive.

Nuke Duke Nukem Forever, that's what I say.

But guys who carries something and looks behind their backs without turning their bodies looks soooo cool

OT: Number one: Fans and haters. They infuriate me when I don't agree with them. URGH!
Also, 98% of all gamers have become one. It's such a cliché in the game world.

Number 2: Seems alright. Can't WAIT for the fans and haters to speak aloud like little babies...

1) I don't know, maybe the whole Call of Duty cover art where everything is just a lone soldier going through the dust of a battlefield. Seriously, a sequel doesn't mean that you need to make the same cover. I think I'll be able to recognize it.

2) It's looked kinda meh right about now. All I've seen is a bunch of over the top violence, and honestly, that doesn't sell as well as it use to. Sure, games like Deadrising and Postal still exist, but the former at least makes an attempt at a story and Postal....well I don't wanna think about Postal that much.

Realism.
It's cliche, and not funny anymore. Stop it.

As some game developer said once, "We can make games where you're bouncing off clouds, games where you're riding dragons over the rainbow, games where grabbing a leaf gives you a racoon tail that lets you fly - why would we try to keep it realistic?"

I'm pretty sure it's meant to be like that. You know... Like a joke?

Think about it for a minute. It's Duke Frickin' Nukem, a self parody of super action heroes of the 80s and 90s. Isn't it expected for everything involving him to be blatantly ripping off or paying homage to stuff that looks "cool"? Or, at the very least, tongue-in-cheek?

It's a pretty common poster style these days, I'd wager Duke Nukem is taking the piss (as ever).

And er, the fact that if there's a group of people and one of them is a traitor, and one of them is black, the black guy is NEVER the traitor. They might be suspected of it, but if they are then they will of course be the most noble and probably sacrifice themselves to save the rest.

We get it, people feel bad about the slavery thing!

The only realistic game i've played is Arma series.

All of the modern FPS games are no realistic.. at all.

It doesn't matter if you've been taking fire for a solid minute, taking cover behind a car or wall for a few seconds will make it all better.
