I'm aware that Super Meat Boy is a difficult platformer, and that that's where the joy supposedly comes from. And I quite enjoy difficult 2d platformers, I loved Tower of Heaven which seemed pretty hard...
Anyways, I'm only a few stages in, still on the first world, and it seems impossible. I'll press space, (or A as I've now reverted to an 360 pad) and about 50% of the time he won't even jump...which makes the game stupidly hard/mostly about chance rather than skill.
Anyone else had problems like this? I'm trying to conjure reasons in my mind as to why it may be happening...maybe my laptop isn't up to scratch, but the fact that it can play games like Portal just fine tells me it should be able to handle a 2d platformer.
Alternatively, maybe the window to press jump is just tiny, and you have to get used to it. I don't know, but at the moment it seems like it has terrible controls and I really can't enjoy the game because of it.
