What does everyone think of this rather weird and terrifying syndrome. To me, the idea that a perfectly healthy person can be cut down by nothing and with no prior knowledge of any impending death is truly horrifying. You?

Sounds quite exciting.
EDIT:

You might be on about that, it's not what you think it is.
If this is it, then it's a lot less exciting.

I would be concerned about that medical issue, if it actually existed.

How can you be confused, guys?

He's talking about how you can die, anytime, anyplace, with little or no warning incredibly easily.

At least, I think that's right...

People can die with no waring what-so-ever for many reasons and I'm sure such inccidents occur frequently, that said, the likelihood of any one person being the victim of sudden death is probably remarkably slim (possible but not probable).

It's when your hearth just stops working for no reason. (at least google said so)
I think there's nothing bad with it. It's very rare and it's probably doesn't hurt that much. It's definitely not worse than flu.

I wouldn't call it a syndrome, since the only sympton is your sudden death.
This thread seems overly pointless, but it made me laugh nevertheless.

Then my work here is done :)

To finally contribute something to this thread, one of the physics teachers at my school had a brother who died from this, or something similar at least. They just found him dead in the morning, he didn't smoke or anything.

Sudden Adult Death Syndrome DOES exist - it's just so inexplicably rare and random that it's not amongst the first things you hear when turning on the news.

As proof of it's existence:

http://www.switched.com/2009/03/30/man-drops-dead-while-playing-wii-fit/

"...suggesting that Eves may have been a victim of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome, which would sound like a joke except it's a real thing (essentially, cardiac arrest in young folks)."
