Primus, Faith No More, Alice In Chains, Rage Against The Machine, Helmet, Mercyful Fate/King Diamond, The Sword, Holy Grail, Ghost.
There. That should keep you busy for a while. Although I'm not sure if Ghost has actually put out a record yet. Well, give them a look anyway. Look up some live footage on Youtube or something.

You should check out Deftones, they're pretty awesome, they have some heavy stuff aswell as alot of slower paced stuff so its keeps you from getting bored
Also Tool and/or A Perfect Circle for pretty much the same reason
Bingo.

Alice In Chains? How about Soundgarden?
Bingo again.

For now, disregard most others (except for Deftones, Metallica and Sabaton) and check these out first. Seriously, because there's quite a few uh...different suggestions in this thread, just like pretty much all music threads.

Here's what I would recommend from my iPod:

Andromeda
Angra
Avantasia
Avenged Sevenfold (If you don't want screaming though, then skip their first 2 albums)
Disturbed
Dream Theater
Edguy
Godsmack
Masterplan
Metallica
Pagan's Mind
Rhapsody of Fire
Sevendust
Sonata Arctica
Symphony X

I have a lot more, but I figured that would be a good variety of sub-genres.

There's a great progressive metal band from Sweden called Wolverine.

Gotta go with the classics on this one. Metallica has some great stuff, as does Black Sabbath. Iron Maiden is good as well.

I'd recommend Sevendust and Five Finger Death Punch if you don't already listen to them.

And you might try Gamma Ray if you want some heavier Power Metal.

This, definitely. Not only do they have very little screaming in their songs (I can only think of two with anything scream-like, and those are just small parts of their songs), but they also have a wide range of diversity in their music as a whole. If you can definitively say anything about the band, it's that no track "encapsulates" their musical style.

Devin Townsend:

Protest the hero:

Cynic:

I'm finding it hard to think of that many more, or at least good ones. I guess most metal bands with clean vocals just go for a really bland style and just suck ass. (see Bullet for my valentine et al) It's a shame more metal bands don't utilise clean vocals well.

Also, not really metal at all, but Porcupine need a mention, because the vocals are fucking great:

How'd I forget them? I third this suggestion.

But what's the most appealing about them is,for me, the stories the songs tell. It's set in a fantasy world and the lyrics tell the tale. Taking 'concept album' to a new level.

Plus Christopher Lee.
[sub]By the way Vault, the band I showed you's guitarist is the guitarist for this band too[/sub]
