Suggest a sniper game?

My favourite gameplay is sniping, always have. I love to pick them off like flies, without them having any idea I am here... Oh wait, they instantly know where I am now.

In almost every game with a sniper I own, the enemies will instanty find you once you've shot someone.

Could anyone suggest a game where your sniping would be proper sniping? Where enemies dont insta-spot you when one of their comrades suddenly has one less head than they should have?

Just, a good sniping game in generall. Some Pro's and Con's would be great to.

Sniper Elite. Completely based around sniping. It's WW2, but if that doesn't bother you, then it's pretty much a sniper sim.

I wouldn't recommend it. THe game is glitched from to hell and back, and only a small portion of it is sniping until they make you run around commando style...

If you use a Sniper properly, instead of xxxxUkZxxIISnIpZ|||xxxxxx or whatever, pick up Sniper Elite, you can find it cheap of Steam or somewhere.

Sniper Elite is definitely a must but you could check out Marine Sharpshooter as well.

You can turn Far cry 2 into a sniping game, its laid out so that you can do it from any vantage point.

Sniper ghost warrior? although the game was apparently bad due to ai problems. I doubt they have been fixed. I remember hearing sales reports for that game and it was some pitiful number somewhere. I think it was below 300. Not sure though.

this one might be a bit old, but man was it good: Sniper Elite

set in WW2, you crawl around in a boomed out berlin and kill a whole bunch of russians and of course nazis
it's also really good when you crank the difficulty up, where you have to fight wind, bullet drop, heartbeat and all kinds of stuff, while hunting a sniper on a rooftop... doesn't get much better than that

I was told it was going to get a MASSIVE update to fix AI/other problems

I would suggest ArmA II. It's not a sniper game in and of itself, but there are sniper missions within the single player scenarios. There is also a TREMENDOUSLY ROBUST editor that would allow you to easily create your own scenarios.

Did I mention that ArmA II is the most realistic shooter on the market? It is.
