So long story short around a year ago I got into a few comic series and now I want some more to read.. I figure we are all fans here someone is bound to share my tastes..

I have a few rules though...
first off I like them in the graphic novel format the traditional is just too flimsy and I like to re-read stuff.. also looking for comics not manga though If its a really good fit I will consider it, one of the reasons I am posting is I am afraid of the whole crazy arcs all over the place of most big name stuff (if you like it fine it just scares me and my wallet) also nothing too lovey dovey ok I like action zanyness mystery and horror (not necessarily all at once though)

Comics I currently read..
My little pony (this is what started it all)
Adventure Time
Bravest Warriors
Chew
also own the dark horse books of monsters/Hauntings/Dead

I made one of these the other day, I don't read any of those comics so I'm not sure if you'll like the same stuff I do but I guess I'll link [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.862959-I-need-some-comics] it because there was a lot of interesting stuff there and I have only gotten around to Saga right now, which is really good and if you like

Anyway I second Vault on Locke & Key, I love that comic and you said you're interested in Horror/Mystery and that has both, in any case it's really good and I highly recommend it.

There's also The Runaways comic which I really like, it's about some kids that find out that their parents are supervillains but nobody believes them so they decide to stop them themselves, I think it's good.

Fables should be good if you want mystery, it's about the detective of fabletown mostly, the game is also pretty good if you want to try that.

Watchmen is good if you like mystery too but if you've seen the movie you already know the big twist, the comic is better though mostly because I really like the side stories and they were cut out from the movie for obvious reasons, I think I like the comic ending better than the movie ending too.
BTW everything I mention does come in Graphic Novel form.

I'm probably just the loser in the corner but I preferred the end of the movie - at least in terms of Rorschach and Nite Owl;

I liked that Nite Owl actually witnessed Rorschach's death and Patrick Wilson did a good job making him seem legitimately torn up about it

That being said, it's a great comic.

That scene was good but the part I didn't like as much was Nite Owl's and Silk Spectre's ending, in the movie it's like a happily ever and no one will bother them because they are afraid of Dr. Manhattan and in the comics they are on the run and have to lay low, it's pretty strange because the scene is actually very similar but the whole context is changed and I really liked the fugitive thing a lot more, but anyway I mostly prefer the comic because of the side stories (The psychiatrist, lesbians, kid in the comic stand, bomb threats and that comic about the guy in the raft) I think that just having them adds a LOT more gravity and drama to the destruction of New York, makes the scene more tragic.
They aren't massive changes but I really think it's better to read the comic first and then watch the movie, I feel like you get more mileage that way, in any case the movie was surprisingly good, specially considering how much I don't like everything else Zack Snyder has done but anyway I prefer the comic.

Yeah yeah, I can totally get behind all that~ I rather liked the movie too (though I don't really MIND Snyder's work, I just don't like religiously hate it or worship it) but I have a tendency when I'm bored to just fast forward to the Rorschach bits (I love me some Jackie Earle Haley); I agree to read the comic first then the movie unless you're a "glass half full" person and you watch it first then read the comic and think "WOW this is so much more complex!"
