NieR, Valkyria Chronicles, Demon's Souls, and although it's a Q-bert puzzle game, Catherine. I've also heard good things about Ar Tonelico, but that's about it.

The selection for JRPGs is pretty poor on consoles, you're much better with handhelds to be honest.

Disgaea 3, Agarest, Trinity Universe, Demon's Souls.

There's also Cross Edge, but I never played it because I heard that the combat system is never properly explained.

NieR, even if you don't like the gameplay, graphics or story, you'll definetly enjoy the music.

Valkyria Chronicles definately, but there are a few other interesting specimens in my collection too.

Star Ocean: The last hope (Some people give it a bad rap, butI enjoyed it)
Disgaea 3 (Bizzare little game)
Resonance of Fate (Interesting take on gunplay in an rpg)
Eternal Sonata (quite a good game, good music and nice graphics)
Folklore (Interesting game, still one I'm aiming to play again at some point)

and of course theres the PSN store too, various Final Fantasy games, Vagrant Story and Xenogears (if your in N.America, dammit)

Catherine isn't a JRPG, nor is it like Q-bert in any substantial way.

And I'd like to second Nier, pretty much the best JRPG you can get on the PS3, though it's pretty far from what you'd typically expect from one.

demon's souls, nowhere near what people think is a JRPG(except for the grind) but awesome.
resonance of fate, nice to have a scifi setting without people using swords.

Demon's Souls!
And if you haven't tried them, or you want to play them again, then final fantasy V through IX is available on the psn store (at least in the european one).

Cross edge is one of my favorite RPGS. It brings me back to back in the day you had to learn the mechanics and game play without it being force fed its so interesting and so incredibly in depth.

Games now a days would tell you everything. Theres no discovery anymore. Theres just tutorials, games holding your hands and pages of gamfaqs to completely ruin a real gamers experience.

Remember when in a game if there was a true ending you'd keep rebeating the games doing different things trying to figure it out. Now you just game faq it and get true ending first play through. Disgusting.

Cross edge is AMAZING Any JRPG by Idea Factory or theresubsidery compile heart are all gems :)

I guess am a dying gamer. I never read Faqs ever, and i still import alot of my games to get them first so theres a lot of guessing since only my friend can speak Japanese fluently.
