Think of something you'd like to discuss.

Post.

You shouldn't post to provoke massive responses. For one, people will start to think you're an attention whore (Well... this thread pretty much did that, at least in my eyes.).

For two, if you start just posting popular topics, you WILL NOT be original.

Passion in what you are writing. I've posted 3 threads. One got no posts, and was(and still is), a frantic unrelenting search for a DOS game that has been lost in time.
The other two I expected no posts on and actually did reasonably well. I pointed out how they were relevant to me, and asked simple direct questions.

I always make sure I'm using proper spelling/grammar and capitalization to the best of my ability.
"i" and "Unique Threads" are both examples of incorrect capitalization.
The first sentence runs long and feels like you haven't thought it through.
"But" is redundant in the last sentence.

I know it's little things, but to me, it can be enough to just ignore a thread, or look down on the person who put it up. It only takes a second to re-read what you have written.

Ill focus on improving the grammar and spelling of my future threads sometimes the little things can make a thread.

I agree with you Shuswah_Noir. This is quite a snobby forum where I think the average IQ is quite high. It therefore becomes quite easy to look down upon poorly constructed arguments and bad grammar and not want to reply at all.

Keep going though Trezu, because if people don't at least try, then we will run out of people wanting to contribute.

P.S. I don't think that there is anything wrong with trying to spark the next big subject. I don't think it is attention seeking at all to want to be part of something that people want to talk about.

I always feel kind of horrible correcting peoples spelling and grammar. But in this forum in particular I've become quite used to not seeing it at all, which is why I tend to notice it more than I do on Facebook and the like.

I'm not being picky to be a *****, I'm just pointing out a reason why I might hesitate to contribute to a thread.
