I tell you, I bought it at the start of november and... am just plainly not feeling it. At all.
There's a lot of fun with the traversing once you get use to it, but part of me feels like the "floor is lava" thing kinda ruins it for me. You're basically stuck in constant movement, constant combat. Theres no moment for one to stop really and catch one's breath.
Character customization is great, but what the hell is the point of me not letting me choose the character's voice/personality as well? It just reminds me of Saints Row, there I could be a detached valley girl or a Cockney-Version of the joker depending on the voice and taunts. Here I'm just slapping a coat of paint on the protagonist, and while that was pretty nifty when San Andreas did it, I think were at a point in time that if you're going to do the whole "create your character" bit you either gotta have the voice or a dialogue tree like Mass Effect.
The last thing that really bugs me is the "Defend The Overcharge" thing you have to do to get new powers. This is just my personal feeling, I hate playing tower defense and that's essentially what this feels like.
I'm really just rather disappointed with it, I was expecting more a Saints Row experince rather than this Tony Hawk with Guns thing.
So how do we feel about it Escapist?
